Because he's not going to be running for anything else in his life.
Because he's confident that they'll slavishly vote for McCain in 2008.

Humpty Dumpty is not running for anything in 2008. And don't expect any TV interviews after he leaves if no one is there to script him.
There are some less intelligent members of the base who can't understand his strategy, including a large number here on FR.
Unfortunately, the president just can't tell everyone why he is doing this....to help secure another crucial ME ally.
We need the UAE.
No doubt we will watch this company very closely.
Because the US dollar must be worth more than the paper it is printed on. That means, if you have dollars, you get to buy stuff with them. Anything less could mean a run on the dollar and the end of the world as we know it. Why sell stuff, get dollars and not be able to buy things with it.
