Tell me, Ohio, what is so honorable about him? You state that you are the proud mom of an Iraq war vet (and I thank your son for his service to our country) so please REVIEW what George Bush and Dick Cheney did during the time I WENT to Vietnam (Cheney received three deferments and Bush, by his own admission, only met the bare minimum of ANG points during his last three years of obligated service because he felt necessary to help some political hack in Alabama run for office).
I am a retired Naval Reservist and was easily able to capture more than the 60-point minimum each year I served. In fact, every reservist I knew in the serveral units I affiliated with during my career was able to do the same--because, if you didn't, it was well-reflected in your fitreps.
I don't fault the president because he was caught driving drunk in his youth, and I don't happen to believe rumors about his alleged cocaine usage or that he constantly was late or never showed for his scheduled ANG drills while in 'Bama.
But I do fault him when he becomes so cozy with the likes of someone like Bill Clinton, does nothing about the looming immigration crisis in our country, proposes jobs outsourcing bills such as CAFTA, suggests that his unqualified personal lawyer would make a SC justice, or that "Brownie did a heck of a job" in the worst hurricane to hit the Gulf in a century, and, especially, when he vows to veto a Congressional attempt to prevent an Arab nation, with proven ties to Al Qaeda, from taking over supervision of our vital seaports.
The more George Bush gaffes I see, the more I believe that former Texas Gov. Ann Richards was right about the "silver foot in his mouth" remark!
