"Apparently, there is more to this than meets the eye."
If there is, George Bush feels no need to explain it, apparently.
We'll see what happens. The storms on this issue started on a long weekend. Yes, the president does need to explain what is happening here.
Everyone needs to calm down. This company outbid everyone else on this deal. Security will not change one iota whether it's the old British owned company or this one. The Dubai company has a huge economic stake in keeping things kosher ie 6.2 billion dollar investment. The more I know about this the more comfortable I feel that there is nothing to be concerned about.
I would however suggest that Bush allow a 45 day review period so all the "bedwetters" can get up to speed.
I was hearing a guy on Rush today (until I got interupted by a psycho customer of mine) who said Bush is allowing this to happen as part of a deal to combat terror. I didn`t hear the rest of it, but I assume a deal was stuck with the likes of "If you let us hold this port deal we can get you Osama or Zarqawi" or whatever, which to me would make sense. I mean think of it this way: If they offered Osamas head on a silver platter you think Bush is going to turn it down? If he could strike a major death blow to Al-Qaeda, I think he would give absolutely anything. But on the other hand, if it is found out that this is solely for money, or any other reason (which I doubt), Bush is finished. Democrats will tear him to shreds for the next 90 years.
