The only thing I can figure is that some deal was struck with the UAE for us to use it as an operating base in case Iran tries to shut down the staights of Hormuz. Those straights are 800 miles from baghdad but the UAE sits right on it. Close enough to use attack helicopters along the southern Iranian coast if need be.
"Is it just me or do I see the same pro-Miers crowd supporting this bizarre deal with a radical Islamic nation? "
I KNOW!!!!!!!!
***Now, Bush looks like the only man in Government willing to give Democratic Arabs a fair shake.***
BINGO!!
And when the smoke clears, the usual suspects will all have egg on thier faces faces from yet ANOTHER over-reaction and spasm of Hate-Bush rhetoric....
"This has all happened before, And will happen again"
Maybe, but Bush had best be revealing why he is outsourcing port security when we are paying zillions of dollars for dozens of state and federal agencies to do the job.
And how much faith can we have in a country of the Third World to defend our ports?
This is a bad move.
Sorry for the double posting
How do you feel about Jews, Darkwolf?

I promise to read it later .. at the moment I haven't calmed down enough .. I need to clear my head more
Already stooping to the lowest form of discourse in the book. Good job.
I really can't stand to see this man crushed like this and I pray someone with some influence can convince him to fire those who have used him and abused him and us.
I'm just not going to deal with this any longer. I have failed too often in the political field to instill honesty and integrity and the one glorious moment Sunday when Allan Simpson so eloquently (ha-ha) deveined the press was the only shining memory for me.
Sad, very sad.
***revealing why he is outsourcing port security***
OK...
So Using your logic, what should we do about the "Port Security" that's been outsourced to the Chinese, Saudis, Germans, Brits, Norwegians, Kuwaiti's, Koreans, Malays, Greeks, Taiwanese and others for the last 3-4 DECADES????
Well, actually we do, through the Congress and the Senate and the Constitution, but I know what you mean.
TNT to unveil UAE-Iran road transport service
Dubai: TNT Express, the worlds leading B2B express delivery company, will launch the Middle East s first UAE -Iran road express this November.
The thrice-weekly Sharjah-Bandar Abbas route is part of the companys plan to double its Middle East Road Network (MERN) revenues within the next three years.
Iran has consistently featured as a top 10 destination for TNT UAE and currently represents around five per cent of our total revenue, said Bryan Moulds, UAE Country General Manager, TNT Express.
We have excellent ground infrastructure throughout Iran and with this new offering, we anticipate our Iranian business to at least double in the next 12 months.
The new road express route will include TNTs fully inclusive door-to-door service. The company will use its state-of-the-art bonded trailers for deliveries to Iran, which will include full track and trace technology, customs clearance, GPS tracking and cost effective prices on heavy weight consignments.
