EXACTLY. In my opinion, we just might be cutting some kind of deal. All I'm saying is that right at this moment we don't know what the contract is, we don't know why he is so serious about it...we just don't know anything but hysteria.

Good observation.

Where in my post did you see that I was opposed to the transaction? If there is a reason to suspect the involvement of terrorism, then that's another matter. Just to ban a middle eastern company because of the location of the company alone strikes me as racist. I thought we had troops over there. This type of attitude will really help with the cause.

"Direct involvement" as in 2 of the 19 hijackers were from UAE? No more "direct" than personally blaming Bush for our own home-grown terrorists.

Plus I don't trust UAE

There are many factors that play into my reasons for not liking this port deal

When I first read about it, that was my gut reaction. It sounded awful on its face. The more I hear, the more I change my mind, this may be a tempest in a teapot.

That being said, I remain skeptical, and am waiting for more rational debate and better information.

Having Schumer and Carter on opposite sides of the issue is hysterically funny, yes?

Open the Door, Enter POTUS HILLARY. ...on this one.

Oh, I see, so THIS is what the "I ain't voting for McCain" Buchananoids will latch onto when HRC wins--"It was that port thing which no one remembers anymore from back in 2006, yeah, THAT's why HRC won!"

Peons?? NOW you want Bush to listen to polls? If Bush worried about Polls we wouldnt have 1/2 of what we wanted. Give me a break. The man appointed a Alito when he was at 35% approval. If he listened to polls he would have never appointed him because he would have thought he didnt have the capital. How soon we forget. Do we really think Bush would hurt this country after the sh*t he has been taking over the last 4 years over the War on Terror. This man would never let it happen. I trust him. Its not blind trust either..

Bush is digging in to fight the cowardly cover their ass politicians and the MSM trying to turn the deal into something that it's not.

You're nuts.

It is already working.

Multiple Arab-American entities have issued press releases stating that the furor over this is pure racism. Even John Zogby has chimed in.

Now, Bush looks like the only man in Government willing to give Democratic Arabs a fair shake. Guess who will be the big losers, should they pursue the matter? The very same bozos looking to withdraw our troops from the middle east.

Arabs have lots of money, guess which political party just lost a ton of it?

I'm going to rant on this later, but I swear, FReepers need to give their President just a little credit sometimes.

It turns out that an anti-Israeli foundation run by the crown prince of Dubai owns the very deed to CAIR's headquarters located almost in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol. The foundation has held telethons to support families of Palestinian suicide bombers.

Bush's embrace of this deal reminds me of Pat Buchanan's embrace of John Demjanjuk. Why? WHY?

(Pat, we soon discovered, I was in the process of throwing himself off a cliff.)

The ignorance of so many people on this issue is unbelievable.

Actually it's the PROUD ignorance is what's unbelievable to me.

FReepers: "Hey, look where Hillary and Schumer are trying to lead us, over that cliff! Let's GO!!!!"

The public can "demand" all they want - what will be the grounds for a Bill of Impeachment (recall "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors").

Did Cheney threaten to take him bird hunting if he failed to support the port deal?

Well, with facts like those...

Here is my prediction: Neither Jeb nor Hillary will be President after 2008.

I respect your opinion, but I am just not concerned about the President's graciousness towards his opponents, although I understand why it irritates his detractors. The President is playing hardball...but he'll smile all the while he's striking you out.

In any case, while those are all facts, I do not believe there is any correlation whatsoever. But I'd be happy to share my tinfoil. ; ).

Is it just me or do I see the same pro-Miers crowd supporting this bizarre deal with a radical Islamic nation? They were wrong then; the next few days will show that they are wrong on this issue too.

So you're saying Bush will be charged with corruption and impeached -- and removed from office?
