Darwin's 'thank you' note to Marx was the standard academic courtesy note; he thanks Marx for having sent him a complimentary copy of Das Kapital.

Actually, this is a myth; Darwin never wrote Marx any letters at all.

eleni121 is repeating another creationist lie. Don't expect any apologies for it; creationists are loath to admit mistakes.

No, I believe he did write Marx a thank you for getting the book. What is a creationist myth is that Darwin was asked to have Das Kapital dedicated to Darwin. This is the story that is not true.

Thanks...I didn't bother to check the authenticity of the note, making the (obviously naïve) assumption that a FReeper wouldn't attempt to hoax fellow FReepers.

Dimensio...thanks for that link, which explains the supposed letter the Darwin sent to Marx...it just keeps getting better and better..

Thanks to all three of you, for completely and thoroughly unmasking the falsehoods, about the supposed connection between Darwin and Marx..

The next time someone tries to make the claim that Darwin and Marx were somehow mutual admirers of each other, now, at least I have the true 'facts', to know that such claims are garbage, based on nothing more than wishful thinking...

Lies and more lies. Why would I believe a copy paste website that pushes EVO theory?

Darwin and Marx influenced many within science — and were committed to an historical materialist and dialectical philosophy-secularism. Darwin was nothing more than a sad sack budding commie---with proclivities to racism and Nazism.

Get a life.

Interesting link on the Darwin/Marx letter issue.

Especially the part Darwin ... argued that science should not address religious matters directly (Colp 1982; Carter 2000).

Your website quoted is a cut-and-past series of talking points used to rebut anti darwinists - not the best source to quote when you accuse others of repeating lies (an accusation I see you frequently make). I searched for more and found an anti Darwinist website that said quite the opposite. So it seems I will have to decide for myself what is true after more reasearch on my own, as you (and most on here) appear just as biased as those you attack.
