Okay - now I see why this is so personal to you. Still, I am entitled to my opinion and I won't change it. Does People magazine write about kids who don't have sex and finish school and get married and then have kids? Why do a big magazine story on someone who made a bad choice that got him into his situation? To me, it says "see, here's a 15 year old black guy who got his girlfriend pregnant (not uncommon)and we are all so shocked that he has chosen to be responsible - WOW!" Is it really all that uncommon for a black teen to take responsibility that it is news? If so, that doesn't bode well for the black community, does it?
I'm getting confused - LOL. It's like watching a tennis match!
And so are we.
Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. It's been very interesting.
And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. :)
She never replies to me.
I guess posting scripture to threw her off!
You lied about Jesus.
yep. Granted he made a mistake. but this 18 year old took responsibility and acted like more of an adult than ydh and others(who I presume are all older than he was)right here on this thread. They SHOULD be ashamed of their petty behavior and childishness. A sensible person can call right right and wrong wrong without being an obnoxious drama queen.
but didn't you see where she offers her hopes and prayers that his daughter find a loving 2 parent home. Parents that will not be afraid to judge right and wrong???
After about the 50th time reading that in different posts, I think she's convinced me she's sincere in feeling empathy and genuine condolences for the family. ....@@
Wait until to get to the umpteenth "liar liar pants on fire" post. Your head will want to blow up.
I just ran across this thread and I gotta tell ya, you took an undeserved beating. No where did I see that you were "spitting" on this boys grave. All I see was that you don't think he should be lauded for doing the right thing. Reminds me of a funny Chris Rock line, he was talking about a young black man basically wanting a medal for taking care of his kids. Chris Rock says something like, "what do you want a medal for?? That's what you're SUPPOSED to do!"
Anyway, I know you aren't intimidated when people start ganging up on you, but I hate to see this "lynch mob" mentality start up on anyone. It's ugly, hateful, childish and uncalled for.
It is a lie that I said anything about Harriett Miers. I never participated in those discussions.
But like you said, I can take it and I refuse to call for back-up, like someone else always does, I can handle things on my own. It is easier to do when you do not lie.
Anyway, hope your holiday was wonderful! Check you mail.
"Police have arrested two young men in Pough's murder, one of them his classmate. At Pough's memorial service Monday, his daughter Diamond sat on the lap of his mother, who is now caring for her. One of the hundreds of mourners was Dorothy Johnson-Speight, founder of Mothers In Charge, which runs violence prevention programs. In 2001, her son Khaaliq, 24, was shot dead by a neighbor over a parking space."

No "nefarious" behavior on Terrell's part has come to light, and it appears that he was indeed killed for his car.
