I'm still of the opinion that the reason MS gets most all of the virus attacks is simply because it is what most all use in the world.

Ummm.... in the server market, Microsoft is a minority player.

You posted to a freely available chatroom your opinion, and an insulting one at that, to somebody whom you consider a zealot. If you did not care to have critical assessment of that post maybe you should not call others a zealot when you yourself exercise that behavior more than they..

Windows 2003: "Currently, 8 out of 71 Secunia advisories, is marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database." Gentoo: "Currently, 0 out of 746 Secunia advisories, is marked as "Unpatched" in the Secunia database."

Clue phone: It's for you. You just don't seem to get it. You can't exploit my servers. I could set them up for you to attack, and I would defy you to use any of these unpatched "vulnerabilities" (sh-yahhh) to break in. Bottom line: You can't. It's a smoke screen. You're simply trying to deflect attention away from the 746 vulnerabilites found in Gentoo Linu -- and you're grasping at straws.

So in other words a bunch of 'linux guys' that are 'your friends' said something that nobody here (at least that you can point to) agrees with is that about the point of your post?

Non-sequitor. First, you don't speak for anyone here but yourself. Second, you don't know everyone's opinions.

Which "server market"?

Im not the one using large fonts to bring attention to only the numbers I wish, so again I think the whole smokescreen thing is you accusing others of what you do.... BTW if you want me to 'begone' why do you keep addressing me?

According to the United States Justice Department, if it's shipped on the distro disks it's part of the OS.

Still and all, no Schadenfreude here. I think malware coders should be strapped to the hood of a car and driven to malls across the country where people can kick them in the nuts for $1.00 as shot.

LOL this coming from the guy who speaks for all his 'linux friends'... You have made a habit of late to accuse people of things you yourself do not even a day ago, its getting a little old...

I did not speak for anyone, I asked you a question "Has anyone on this board said this? or is this just an attempt to mistate the position of people here?". Instead of showing us these mystery people, or even admitting you have not seen them on FR, you attack me..

No, you're merely using specious arguments.

Try to keep up. Take some freakin' Ginkgo Biloba or something. I was referring to that particular conversation.

Ok OM$er, keep insulting people by attacking their mother (which thankfully the mod pulled) and calling them 'boy'. It wont be too long until your account is suspended again..

I could use gross insults about peoples mothers, and plain insults like calling them boy. While claiming that some nameless faceless 'linx fiends' I have said yadda yadda yadda..

In any case its clear you dont want to discuss you want to shout so Ill stand back and watch you get banned again..

Yeah, unlike you, I've actually met and conversed with the friends that I'm referring to. You don't have squat. You're just trying to lump everyone on this thread into the same anti-M$ cookie cutter position.

You have made a habit of late to accuse people of things you yourself do not even a day ago, its getting a little old...

Where? Show me.

I did not speak for anyone

LOL, you were trying to..

I asked you a question "Has anyone on this board said this? or is this just an attempt to mistate the position of people here?". Instead of showing us these mystery people, or even admitting you have not seen them on FR, you attack me..

You can shove it. I'm under no obligation to name my friends' names here on FR. If you don't like my assertion, fine. Disagree. Whatever. Deal with it.

Whatever. I'm getting a little tired of the ol' OSS circle-jerking around here, anyway...

Fine. Ban me. Then you and your OSS buddies can stand around and stroke each other's ... uh ... egos, without any kind of intervening reality...

Every INDIVIDUAL microsoft computer is equiped to be a server as well, so potential to effect all is probable.

With so many more people using that OS, that is the target of choice IMO.

My Linux friends assure me that, with their zillions of eyeballs constantly scanning the open source code, Linux can't be targeted by worms and viruses...

I really doubt you have any friends. And certainly anyone who runs Linux wouldn't claim to have you as a friend after hearing your obnoxious rants.

Ok, for the record...

1) This is not a "Linux" worm. (No shipping Linux distro is vulnerable to this)
2) This is not an Apache worm.(Simply installing Apache won't make you vulnerable to this)
3) This is not a PHP worm. (Simply installing PHP won't make you vulnerable to this)
4) This appears to be a worm that affects a couple of PHP extensions used by a select few applications, the two most major of which were patched months ago. (AWStats and Drupal)

If you install Apache, PHP and AWStats on a Windows box, it's also vulnerable to this exploit. Does that make it a Windows worm?

I really doubt you have any friends.

Your thoughts really don't have any significance to me. [Aside: I have hard time taking seriously anybody who thinks that a wedding at Medieval World is a good idea. Hey, do me a favor and post some of the pics so that others can share a few gut-busting guffaws, as well...]

And certainly anyone who runs Linux wouldn't claim to have you as a friend after hearing your obnoxious rants.

Unlike you, my self-esteem isn't tied to an OS and, therefore, I don't need to have my friends be cookie-cutter images of myself. We can agree to disagree on any number of subjects, without taking out the long knives ...

This is not a "Linux" worm.

Tell it to McAfee. This worm is listed as "Linux/Lupper.worm". It's a derivative of "Linux/Slapper". It has been found in the wild, and there's no evidence that it attacks Windows-based web servers at all.

I can't help but wonder if you're on your menstrual cycle. You're quiet for a while, then all of a sudden you rear your head, posting threads only to incite, apparently begging for a stomping.

How you've lasted so long is beyond me. Perhaps it's therapeutic having a whipping boy at the Freep, so I thank you for volunteering.

Ugh. Haven't I told you a dozen times already that I have no interest in your latent-gay conversations, JoJo? You can't seem to help yourself. From your androgynous choice of names (JoJo), attempts to feminize men (menstrual cycle), fetishist violence (begging for a stomping), to your sado-masochistic imagery (whipping boy), blah, blah, blah ... go peddle your weirdness to somebody that cares.
