isn't it? a general would be court-martialed for dereliction of duty --- even all the way down to the fire-team leader ... if they were derelict in their duties .... busted - or worse if someone was killed.
So what gives politicians a 'carte blanche' for .... how shall I put this .... total ignorance, malfeasance and dereliction of duty?
I would draw up the papers and drop them on his desk and tell him ... "FIX IT OR ELSE!"

I am not so sure that failing to protect our nation's borders from an invasion doesn't rise to that level. But if that is what we are going to do, ten about 90% of Congress ought to be impeached right along with him.

So, if failure to uphold you oath of office is not a high crime and misdemeanor, what is?

what T.R. called a "polyglot boarding house for the world." I didn't know TR had weighed in on this. If refusing to address a gross violation of a clearly stated provision of the Constitution vis-a-vis its responsibility to the states (which the federal government loves to dominate and demand things of) is not a High Crime, then I don't know what is. This is a violation of the Constitution itself, not the Bill Of Rights.

This gross - and demonstrably willful - negligence, especially in a time of war, is definitely a high crime. It's all about the oath. See U.S. Constitution Article IV, Section 4.

It is a failure to uphold the oath of office Mr. Bush took. To protect the country from enemies aboard and at home, and protecting a sovereign nation from invasion.
