On 6-10 FoxNews, AP, and "CNN"
reported that DOMPIG and EDWARD CROES stated that a body had been found and police were being taken to a crime scene (those reports were retracted by Aruban officials the same day). DOMPIG also stated that one of the persons in custody had stated that
something bad happened to NATALEE. Shortly after that statement became public, a press conference was held in which one senior government official made no reference to the Assistant Commissioner's statement, choosing rather, to say that the authorities were at a critical juncture in the investigations.

NATALEE's family rushes to a lighthouse after a police official tells the media that one of the three young men in custody admitted something bad happened and was leading police to the scene. But prosecutors refuse to confirm or deny the information, which yields no new developments.

MANSUR also reported that as of 7-11 Main Suspect J. SLOOT has told investigators 14 to 16 different versions of events.
On 8-1 BETH said that on 6-10 BETH was given information that Main Suspect
P. SLOOT had confessed and that NATALEE was probably not alive, so BETH then phoned her mother and told her.

on 6-10 and into 6-11 they were receiving reports that one of the Suspects in custody had murdered NATALEE, and it was from 6-10 on that the family only started thinking that NATALEE may have been murdered.

F.B.I. Special Agents within the UNITED STATES have questioned most, if not all, of the Mountain Brook High School students who went on the ARUBA trip.

On 6-11 STRAATEN was asked by a DUTCH journalist if he had any hopes for a positive outcome? STRAATEN replied, You always have to be hopeful, but I dont believe anymore that we will find Natalee alive. When asked why not, STRAATEN replied, Because I know the details of the investigation and you don't!
Main Suspect J. SLOOT, Suspect D. KALPOE, and Suspect S. KALPOE retained in custody after 6-11 hearing.
PAUL REYNOLDs told "CNN" on 7-15, And back on the confession. You know, what was reported is somewhat vague. But the deputy commissioner report of the Aruban police, reported the boys were talking that Friday night. The next morning, the chief spokesperson for the minister of justice was reporting that Natalee was dead. The F.B.I. had even intimated to my sister that they thought Natalee was probably not alive based on what the boys were saying. So we're confident they were saying something. We don't know exactly what it was.
