Missing: Natalee Holloway participated in a trip with 125 seniors from Mountain Brook High School to Aruba in the Caribbean. In the early morning hours on May 30, 2005 Natalee was seen leaving a nightclub and getting into a vehicle. She failed to turn up Monday morning for her return flight home and she has not been seen since. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
Profile: Natalee Holloway was born on October 21, 1986 to Beth and Dave Holloway. She grew up in the close-knit community of Mountain Brook, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. She was very popular and respected by her classmates and had a reputation among peers at being very intelligent and focused on her future. She lived up to her reputation, graduating as an honors student from the Mountain Brook High School.
Extracurricular Activities: During Natalle's high school years she participated several extracurricular activities including: The American Field Service - A club which interacts with the foreign exchange students. According to my Dutch friend who has lived here for 25 years, you just nailed what Holland is like. As I stated before, he and his wife said, that the parks are virtually unusable because they are littered with passed out Heroin addicts lying on the benches and and on the ground. Then we have the windows full of women selling sex. The Country is a stench in God's nostrils and HE will no doubt give that culture it's full due.

I don't for a minute think she was a runaway. I do think something was up that night Jug and Beth arrived at the VDS house, something was off might better be the word.
Mama VDS wasn't back from Holland yet, so who knows what was going on in that house?
We know things transpired, were said, that are being held back. Why did they just talk outside? The police were there, wouldn't the normal thing be to go inside and have a quite talk? My understanding is it took PVDS 20-25 minutes to answer with the sirens running.
We also know that Beth feels that Natalee was in that house at some point.

I happen to agree with the BOYCOTT solution. A MAJOR boycott. As to witnesses, part of it very well could be sending people in all directions, wasting time etc. but when you see what happens to "witnesses" in Aruba, you can understand their reluctance to come forward. Many of them end up DEAD! Please excuse my language but I am beginning to believe also that we have all been subjected to one incredible mindf---k!! *blush*

ABSOLUTELY!! Any country that kicks God out of every facet of it's being has just signed it's death warrant. God being the Gentleman that HE is, will not force a people to honor Him. And if they want Him to leave He will, HOWEVER, He takes not only his blessing with Him but He also takes His protection as well!!
You know, we are sooo blessed to be born into this open, free society.
I think about that a lot, phoebe. And we are so blessed that so many servicemen/servicewomen have fought for our freedom. We owe them so much and to the families who lost their loved ones for us.

Before I post the best of my recollection of the Van Zandt interview, I have to tell you that I was TRYING to follow it, as I played Disney games on the computer with a 4-year old. So....as I just said, the following what I got from the interview. It is very possible that I missed parts, but believe me, I was trying to hear ALL of it!! Here is what I have...
Van Zandt interview (very condensced version):
Van Zandt entered the internet café today and politely asked Deepak if it would be alright for them to talk. Deepak agreed and so the interview began.
Van Zandt said that he told Deepak that he wanted to talk to him as he would talk to his own son. He asked him if he knew that Joran had told the police that he (Deepak) was the person who raped and killed Natalee. Deepak acknowledged that he had heard that. Van Zandt asked him if he had had a chance to discuss their stories while they were in jail together. Deepak indicated that they had not, because they police had kept them separated.
Van Zandt asked Deepak if he thought that this case was going to go away, even if Joran is released from jail. Deepak said that it would never go away because Beth (he refers to her as Beth) would never leave the island until she found Natalee.
At this point, Van Zandt asked Deepak if he felt like his life was on hold. Deepak nodded and said that he had planned to attend college in Florida, but now he knows that is not possible. Instead, he said that he may go to Canada, but that he just did not know because this case is hanging over him.
Then, Van Zandt asked Deepak if he knew what a plea bargain was and Deepak acknowledged that he did. Actually, he told V.Z that it is when 2 people get together and turn state’s evidence and testify against someone else. V.Z. agreed with him and asked him if this would be a possibility. Deepak told him that in Aruba, they do not have the plea bargain option.
Van Zandt told Deepak that this was going to hang over him the rest of his life. He asked him how he felt about that and Deepak did not answer. From there, he brought up the subject of polygraphs. Deepak told him that they were not admissible in Aruba. V.Z. told him that, at least, he could clear up his public image if he were to take one and pass it. Then V.Z. asked him if that would be a possibility, if it were administered by a professional. (I believe he even mentioned the FBI.) Deepak said that he would be willing to take one, if his attorney will allow it.
I was left with the impression that he is going to discuss it with his attorney.
I am certainly in favor of a boycott. Quite frankly, who would want to spend their tourist dollars in a country whose laws/LE/gov do not protect you. And then, there is that "little thing" that I've noticed of the underlying hostility that the Arubans seem to have for Americans. That really bothers me. You can see it in their smirks even on tv! Look at Trappenberg with his pompous attitude!
Regarding witnesses, I am fearful for this new witness, the jogger, that the LE has publically asked to come forward. I hope he doesn't end up with a Colombian Necktie or just plain "disappeared".
Van der Stinketh has already fled to Holland friend. He's Joran's Godfather, Papa VDS's best friend and a criminal in my opinion. He began this deliberate debacle on May 30th!! He, in fact, is the one that kept threatening Beth if she complained. Every time she complained about something or said she would go to the media, he threatened to STOP the investigation. What a creep. He is responsible for a great deal of trouble with this case.

Yes, our wonderful servicemen are always included in my prayers, as well as the veterans who fought so boldly and courageously for our wonderful country. Where would we be without them?

grizz you may not be too far off. Remember when even the Aruba media reported that Joran had confessed. Then all of a sudden, Van der Stratten, when asked by Greta, "didn't recognize that"!! Every which way she asked the question, he would reply, "I don't recognize that"!! ??? HUH?? Even Greta was shaking her head. Seems things appear and then DISappear at somebody's behest.

What's in Aruba that is their drawing card? Sun and sand? I have that in my home state.
