Firefighters drain a lake, Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Oranjestad, Aruba searching for Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway, who vanished nearly two months ago while vacationing in the island. Edwin Comemencia, a police spokesman, confirmed that the draining of the lake across from the Marriott Hotel was part of the investigation into Holloway's disappearance but would not comment further. I don't know what they're doing. I have seen only one news report and I was shocked by the size of the pond. It may not be deep, but it looked a lot larger than I had imagined.

I think it's the next door neighbor's monkey screeching in the background that Beth heard on the voice mail from Natalee. Supposedly, Beth heard it too while she and Greta were invited in by P & AVDS. Story is that the VDS's next door neighbors were out of town and left their pet caged monkey without food & it was very noisy.
If Natalee died by accident or however on the VDS property, her body could have been wrapped up tightly in a heavy tarp and thrown down into their old non-functioning well. They may have not wanted to risk riding around with her dead body and were cocky enough to think they could get away with hiding it there. PVDS & his buddie, the LE, Van der Straaten, "searched" their property weeks ago, but with no cadaver dogs, thus, everyone "assumes" their property has already been covered in the search.....
I'm not positive Natalee's body is in the well, but I have a nagging feeling about it. And if there is proof by cell phone records, background noises, etc. that Natalee was at one time on the VDS property, it is a no brainer to do another search.
