Laura Ingraham tells Bush, “No, You tone it down” tonight on her radio show
7-5-2005

Posted on 07/05/2005 9:37:54 PM PDT by Brian_Baldwin

Tone what down, Mr. Bush? Who are you talking to?

To conservatives?

I think he is.

And I think Laura Ingraham, thinks he is, too.

And, proud of God Knows What, he slighted the conservatives who are suppose to sit around and watch their hair turn white as year after year after year after year betrayal, and now having given so much to put the Republicans and the Bush family BACK in power, who believed the oath Bush gave to church leaders, to conservative leaders, in back door meetings, when lots of money exchanged hands, and money from common people hard earned, and who told the common people all over this nation that he will fight to put a conservative on the bench, and now this from Mr. Peepers he tells us to “tone it down”? Laura Ingraham told Bush tonight, no YOU Bush, you tone it down. Don’t hush us. You hush. You listen. The House, The Senate, The White House, years and years in the making, and now it’s all yours, conservatives who ground down for you, and when it is time, you tell us to tone it down? Squander another 20 years?

Oh, I see. Really. Well, maybe you tone it down Mr. President, or perhaps as some are now calling you Mr. Peepers. Or should I be more respectful?

You tone it down when you talk to conservatives about this vital issue, this nomination to the Court. You better listen. If you told us a lie, you are going to really see who can make hell regarding “Bush Lied”, and it won’t be coming from the Left who are going to make you eat your own words.

You come to the conservatives, to the heroes, to the Patriots, willingly this time. That is more than just good advice, it's real good advice. Respect your family? You respect our families, and everything they have done for you. Your friends? Your loyalties? Who has been your friend, and gave you loyalty? You now need to respect our families, our loyalties. But if you will not approach my friends, my conservatives, with affection, of your own free will, you can take your family and your loyalty to your friends (in power) and you can sit and ride a dead horse right to where you are going, Mr. President.

Don’t you tell me about how the illegal aliens “do the work”, the work that Americans “won’t do”. Don’t you tell me what I would do or not do to support my family. How dare you. And you don’t tell us to tone it down. How dare you, again. Not this time.

Ugly words? You haven’t even heard it yet.

Maybe it isn't on line? I have no idea, other than that guess, why you can't find it.

You and me both, you and me both...Mark Levin for the O'Connor replacement! The man is absolutely brilliant, an expert on Constitutional law,Conservative as all get-out, an originalist, a strict Constructionist, and very funny to boot.

Yes ........ and one more thing that I like in a man with all those great attributes .......... Along with his great humor, Mark is rightfully and righteously angry! His anger is properly directed at all the people and things that are crushing this country.

I would love it if Bush nominated HIM!

Bottom line is, the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of NCLR saying that the Attorney General of the U.S. "served with distinction on the board of directors of one of NCLR’s oldest and most respected affiliates". Nobody has refuted it.

a slightly disturbing interview in USA TODAY, President Bush tells everyone to "tone down" the rhetoric...

Well, you know what? Everybody should tone down the rhetoric. On both sides of this debate that started before any decision has been made.

I haven't seen the entire comment, but this sound bite looks like it was taken out of context. This selection of a new Supreme Court Justice is serious business, and will be much more effective if all the debaters stay on the other side of the line that separates debate from rhetorical excess.

Your shotgun mouth is getting ahead of your b-b gun butt, cowboy!

I always knew you to be an anti-kook, but I never knew you to be a true RINO.

I stand corrected.

"The White House needs to listen to its friends"

Bwaaaaah!

You are nothing more than a liberal who wears republican sheets.

You are everything I utterly despise.

Howza bout this for a plan: Nominate Mark (F. Lee) Levin. Obviously -- although I would LOVE him on the SCOTUS -- the liberals, who seem to own the reins in this Senate, would not allow it.

But it would make all future nominations seem liberal in comparison, thusly making them more palatable.

(big, toothy grin)

I will admit that I didn't vote in the 2000 election. I was going through a nasty divorce, and for the first time since I was 18, literally forgot it was an election year. I was pleased with Bush enough to vote for him this time. I even drove 2 hours and spent the night in an empty house to go to my polling place.

Since Bush has been reelected, his priorities seem to have changed. I'm very upset about the illegal issue, and border security. Even though Bush had nothing to do with it, I am appalled over the SC decision to gut the 5th amendment. Not a peep from President Bush on this issue. He has to know how many citizens are upset over these issues, but he doesn't address them in a satisfactory manner.

Maybe I'm naive, but I thought Bush was a decent honorable man, who wouldn't flat out lie to us. Let's see who he nominates to the Supreme Soviet, and find out once and for all.

This country is crashing and burning : (

If the President shafts the conservative base on this nomination, it will be his "Read my lips" moment. He will bring the Republican Party down in '06 and his presidency is effectively over. I do hope that Rove understands that if W doesn't.

Laura is ripping into him again today, again about the "tone it down" garbage. Good for her.

You should tune in.

You said... "I have, sadly, known and loved many women who have DIED from cancer. I know, intimately, what they went through."

Then do the honorable thing...and admit that what you said was over the top. If you still cant see it...imagine Laura to be YOUR daughter..would you be so cavalier about her life situation?

The dictionary wont save you this time either.

I call them as I see them...you dont have to be a fanatic to do that.

I stand by my cult mentality remark.

Hell yeah.

My impression -- like Laura's -- is Dubya's telling real conservatives to STFU because we're dissin' his moderate bud, Alberto Gonzo, while demanding he execute Plan "A" by nominating ONLY true conservative SC judges.

"The last thing I heard is President Bush wants to nominate someone in the same mold as Thomas and Scalia. That's good enough for me. To paraphrase 'hold your fire until you see the nominee's ayes'."

Pre-election rhetoric OR actual truth of the matter?

Consider a few "warning shots" fired just in case.

In order for the whitehouse to have friends... It must show it'self friendly!!! If the President's friends have no right to call things into question that need questioning, what good are friends who NEVER question, pray tell???

I would like to interject that overall the same problems that have existed in the border region have not fundamentally changed in the last century.

But that wasn't the question. You may want to reread the question.

The question did not ask if the problem was similar. The question asked if the problem has escalated.

The question to Texasforever was:

So in your opinion, the border problem has not escalated in the past 25 years or so?

And he answered : No.
