Beth Holloway Twitty: 100 one dollar bills given to Natalee by Jug for tips. Beth took Natalee to a friends house at 4 a.m. on the 26th of May. Beth did not talk to Natalee the entire time when Natalee was in Aruba. Beth did not have any concerns with the exceptions of the men trying to hit on the girls at C&C which George Natalee's stepbrother had informed Beth of. Beth stated she gave Natalee safety precautions.
May 30th a little after 12 or 12:30 when Beth received a phone call. She knew in 3 seconds after the chaperone told her that Natalee had not showed up in the group in the lobby of the hotel that Natalee had been kidnapped.
When Beth got the phone call the chaperone and students were all gathered in the lobby with the exception of Natalee. Beth asked the driver of the car that she was riding in to pull over and she took the wheel. She immediately making 911 calls while driving 120 mph. Beth was requesting an escort for about 2.5 hours when she passed a state trooper. She continued at that speed for about 4 minutes before she stopped. She got out of the car approximately the same time the state trooper did, she explained. Beth requested that the state trooper contact Washington, the FBI, in which the state trooper complied.
Beth just brought me to tears. I can't imagine the panic, fear and desperation she must have felt. How she managed to find the strength to get behind the wheel and continue to think straight is amazing to me. Steel Magnolia, indeed!
Beth sounded quite firm saying "kidnapped" instead of something else. Sounds like she wants us all to know something.
Well now I know why some people were saying that the call went to someone in Mississippi. BHT was just outside of Memphis when she got the call. Just outsie of Memphis when enroute to Birmingham is in Mississippi. That would be on Hwy 8. Given what she said to Greta tonight she would have been between Memphis and Tupelo.
How did she "know" there was a kidnapping??
