Terri Schiavo's remains buried in Clearwater
Sun-Sentinel ^ | June 20, 2005 | MITCH STACY

Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''

David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.

``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.

After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

What a slap in the face to Terri's parents......I hope they find peace knowing that they will be with her some day.

I hope those who wanted Terri dead do not go dance on her grave now that they know where it is located.

I would hate to have the last name Schiavo.....

May Terri's parents find peace.

Could he be any more of an a@@hole?

One day Terri's parents will unite with her.

MS has no power over that.

`I kept my promise.''

Michael protesteth too much...way, way too much.

How odd that he's placed his own [alleged] epitaph on Terri's grave stone.

Imagine
Lee Harvey Oswald being allowed to have, "I shot him dead," inscribed on JFK's tombstone.

I still care, I really hope you don't mind that I have lifted your words from your post and put them in an entry on my blog, they are so well written.

As for the evil that is the supposition that if God had wanted her to live, He would have done something [miraculous} - honey...sweetheart... I really hate to tell you this but, there is a thief who died upon a cross who is looking upwards at heaven still wondering the same thing.

Wow. Even Terri's GRAVESTONE is all about HIM.

Exactly.

The saddest part to me ... with all the decent and caring men in the world, tender-hearted Terri had the misfortune of being wooed by a narcissist.

I'm no big Michael Schiavo fan, but I can't understand those who are critical of him for not being 'nice' to the Schindlers. I think they forfeited any entitlement to cordiality when they started branding him as a murderer.

They crossed the line. They made heinous accusations based upon nothing but speculation. Just like many here. You don't just walk back from that brink and expect Michael to treat them respectfully just because they are her parents.

I don't think anything surrounding this matter surpasses badgering authorities to investigate whether he murdered his wife as an "in-your-face gesture."

Why do I get the feeling that there are many of you who'd feel cheated if the man did repent all of his sins?

After a few minutes of being shocked, I'd be happy.

Sounds like a win-win situation, to me.

With a change of heart Michael could be a great spokesperson against euthanasia, too..

I'd bet Michael would even be kind enough to the Schindlers to change the words on Terri's gravestone.

Try walking a mile in their moccasins.

BTW, Do you have a tender-hearted daughter who was unfortunate enough to marry a 6 1/2 foot narcissist?

"Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the Gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night."

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

I hope the parents can erect a private, appropriate and loving memorial to honor their beloved daughter - she deserved better than what she got.

The shameful self-serving gravestone MS flaunts to the press says all I need to know about him and just proves what I have thought about him all along.

No, my daughter is only 4.

But you don't accuse someone of murder without proof. That used to be called bearing false witness.

It's all about him... he even had to put "I" on her gravestone.

He took everything away from Terri including her grave. It's been all about him all along.

And you agree that anger is a perfectly valid emotion to permantly emboss a gravestone with. Why is that not surprising?

Sadly enough, he really may be referring to something like that he'd told her. It's not like controlling spouses never say, "If you leave me, I swear I'll kill you..." Maybe it's a piece of the "initial trauma" puzzle.

No tears in your eyes when some thug starves your own daughter to death, eh? How cold the womb you dropped from, I guess.
