The court of jurisdiction did not knuckle under to grandstanding, I'll admit that. It was not a time period that showed our government at it's most rational.
I certainly don't think rational law would have come of it, and I am glad it did not. These kind of laws, if they need altering, need to be debated by cool-headed people following sound, rational processes. I learned from this episode that there is a certain type of idealogue I NEVER want to see achieve too much power in this country.
