It doesn't matter how much of Terri's brain was left intact or was functioning. The issue for me is that Terri had a right, as an American citizen, to decide her own fate in a situation like the one she was in.
How does a person whose brain isn't functioning make that decision, let alone communicate it?
Well we will never know now will we? Any person with nothing to hide, would have said to the parents..."fine you show me conclusive evidence that she wants to live and I will hand her over to you..."
Any judge, with nothing to hide, would have followed thru with the investigations to find out the answer to that question.
What were they so afraid of?
