I work for a HUGE corporation that recently sent out an email company-wide about how we need to celebrate the gay-lesbian-transexual-whatever lifestyle.
F**k 'em. I take their paycheck and bust my ass for them....and make them a LOT of money.....but I will NOT be forced to "celebrate" these abominations.
99% of my coworkers, I am sure, feel the same way. In this day and age, though.....you just shut up, grin, and bear it.......or you totally ignore it (my personal choice).
In the meantime, such people we're asked to "celebrate" continue to find creative ways to kill each other via disease, etc.
A few years before I retired -- a new booth appeared --- it was the gay-lesbian-transexual booth...
I was puzzled -- I couldn't figure out what country or culture they represented --- so I call the manager in charge of the event and asked.... "What country do the fagots represent? What cultural are they celebrating?"
I asked if there was going to be any unique food, music, dance, costumes or "cultural" information that was going to be shared with the rest of us -- or were they simply advertiseing the fact they were sexual deviants?
He was a little disturbed at my question -- and wouldn't defend the decision in any way other than recognizing the "diversity" on our plant site....
This was a cheap cop out - that didn't sit will with me..
So -- I said I felt discriminated against....
I said that MY sexual preferences weren't being recognized, and that I demanded a booth of my own to "celebrate" my sexual deviancy...
I told them that I got my rocks off on bestiality -- and that I wanted a booth to introduce MY sexual partners to the plant -- I told him I had some lovely pigs, sheep and one very loving cow I wanted to "celebrate" diversity with...
At first he thought I was joking....but I assured him that if they continued to celebrate sexual deviancy at an International Cultural Fair --- they MUST grant me my own booth or I would pursue a sexual discrimination charge....
I didn't get my booth -- Imagine that....
But I did make a lot of managers very uneasy and embarrassed that they had made a horrible mistake to slide a Fagot booth into an International "Cultural" event....
My action was the subject of humorous conversation for years.... It would come up occasionally whenever one of the managers that tried to "manage" my outrage brought it up...
I made my point, kept the heat on the dumb asses to more carefully consider their actions in the future --- and was excused from ever again having to attend a "sensitivity" class that EVERYONE else had to attend..
This large Corporation simply couldn't deal with a maverick that wouldn't drink the Kool-Aid....
