Border Militia: We'll Shut Down the Border with Machine Guns
Casey Nethercott is the leader of a militia group dubbed the Arizona Guard and said during a TV interview broadcast on Friday, "When this Minuteman thing is over, if it doesn't work, we're going to come out here and close the border with machine guns."
KVOA TV-4 in Tucson carried a report on Friday by reporter Nancy Perla that toured the group's compound that sits along the Arizona/Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. The camera showed two older model American made SUV's, both painted black, that Nethercott claims are "armored vehicles" with "quarter-inch steel in them." Pointing again to the vehicles, Nethercott continued, "You'll get killed without them, here's been so many shootouts out here."
The camera then shows a concrete block wall riddled with bullet holes that Nethercott says came from drug smugglers. The report titled "Mimicman Projects" by KVOA calls them copy cats and says the project could begin on July 4, though Nethercott would release no details.
The Minuteman Project stated through Chris Simcox, who is an organizer for the project, that they don't support a violent solution. "I think anytime you go to that length to take the law into your own hands, you're asking for trouble," Simcox told KVOA.
The armed militia supports the Minuteman Project, but says that if they fail to close the border to illegal border crossers, his group will step in and be heavily armed to do the job.

He has nothing to do with the Minuteman Project. His wild rhetoric is all bluff and bluster and it will hurt the Minuteman Project. I wish he's just shut up. Heck, I wish he just go away.
What possible good would that do? If he did that, you can damn well be sure that his critics would deliberately use that as evidence of his "hatred of Mexicans". It would be untrue, that won't matter.
Next, I hope you'll comment on the quotes from the minuteman guy she interviewed.
Because you define groups to be 'allied' at the drop of a hat and with no justification.
We cannot afford to let anyone in...if they are here ILLEGALLY, they need to be expelled, fined, and perhapos even incarcerated. You speak as if we need to provide some sort of amnesty, when what we need to do is enforce present laws.
And loser scumbags like Vicente Fox need to start doing what is necessary to promote a Mexican economy worth staying home for.

Really. So you go to a company that does house remodeling or home theater installations. They have a nice website and showroom. You check out their work and see it is good. You look over the contract and the quote and sign it. You head back to Washington, DC and can't wait to return to see your family's nice, new home theater. The kids are going to love it. At what point in the process do you check out the immigration status of the workers that may be assigned by the contractor to do the work on the house? I'm sure that you would hope that the contractor, who holds a contractor's license, would obey all relevant laws. The blame lies with the contractor and the people who give out the licenses. Again, if it had been reported that Tancredo stormed into the basement upon seeing a hispanic-looking fellow and demanded to see his immigration paperwork you'd be having fun calling Tancredo a "racist" or some other crap. Admit it.
No actual militia has been quoted on the media until this. What you seem to have been unable to glean from previous stories of the MinuteMan project, with your keen eye for detail, is the complete lack of connection between the MinuteMan project and any militia.
a secondary thought: if the media insists on calling the citizens group involved with the MinuteMan project a militia, does that add credibility to the 2nd amendment applying to all citizens, thereby tripping up some liberal arguments against it?

I have to suspect that the anti- Minuteman crowd will try to infiltrate the movement and attempt to disrupt it, but this guy seems like a lone kook.
