So every time the tube is pulled today, estimated to be in the low hundreds, it is a murder?

I think that is an absurd contention.

If all it takes to keep someone alive is to supply them with food and water, and that is deliberately denied to them in full knowledge of the result, then yes, that is murder.

And if we are a civilized nation we need to put a stop to it.

Every time someone is forcibly starved to death because it's a cost-effective way to end a life deemed too expensive or high-maintenence by the family or the medical establishment, yes, it's absolutely murder. Pure barbarism.

This thread seems like a self-help group for people who have done that very thing to a loved one, quite honestly.

I just finished listening to Dennis's first segment myself. I'm pretty much in the same camp as he is. I opposed the removal of the feeding tube but I also oppose oversimplification of the issue.

One of his points that interested me: If the Schindlers had gone along with Michael about removing the feeding tube, would it still be murder?
