Unless you have a time machine, "ex post facto" is also objective, so it's clear you can't use a later reason to justify witholding rights from Mrs. Schiavo at earlier times.

Check back at 1959. I tried to keep it simple, too. I was pointing out that you can't use comments about the husband's fiancée in your defense of why Mrs. Schiavo's right to have the tube removed wasn't honored back when it was first requested.
