I was so appalled that I refused to post until yesterday when they started sainthooding the chirens that were taken into custody because imho poor judgement by the parents. The LE officers were called every name under the sun for shackling the poor little homeschooled chirens.

Maybe FR, but not conservatives, we are just a tiny part of the picture. Those of us who found this thread are the glue. The others are mostly one topic wonders. What will happen once this is over? Most terri trolls will stop posting here. That happened with a couple high profile court cases and missing kids stories. The Smart case comes to mind.
Actually, those threads have been going on well over a year -- and, yes, they've been just as bad. It's just that the regular Freepers didn't go on them until last week.

Lord! I have seen plenty of doctors who disagree that Terri Schiavo is PVS. She should be tested legitimately and she shouldn't be starved, regardless.
Do you realize what kind of looney bin this place will be if Terri dies tomorrow? It's a shame the topic was hijacked. I really appreicate everyone's sane factual reporting without all the attacks.

William P. Cheshire Jr., the Florida doctor cited by Gov. Jeb Bush yesterday in his announcement that he would intervene again in the case of Terri Schiavo, is a neurologist and bioethicist whose life and work have been guided by his religious beliefs.
Dr. Cheshire entered the field of bioethics relatively late in his career. A profile of him on the Web site of Trinity International University, where he enrolled in the master's program in bioethics in 2000, states that he was "searching for how he should integrate his faith with his medical career." After getting the degree, he became an adjunct professor of bioethics there.
A search of his publication record in the online medical library PubMed yielded articles in medical journals, with a focus on headache pain, in particular trigeminal neuralgia, a painful disorder originating in a cranial nerve called the trigeminal. None of the papers dealt with persistent vegetative states.
Dr. Cheshire, who graduated from Princeton and earned a medical degree at West Virginia University, did not return calls to the Mayo Clinic seeking comment. The clinic said in a statement that his work on the Schiavo case was not related to his work at the clinic and that the state had invited his opinion. "He observed the patient at her bedside and conducted an extensive review of her medical history but did not conduct an examination," the statement said.
"Although Terri did not demonstrate during our 90-minute visit compelling evidence of verbalization, conscious awareness or volitional behavior," he wrote, "yet the visitor has the distinct sense of the presence of a living human being who seems at some level to be aware of some things around her."

Just being "conflicted" is not enough for many. I have said on the air (KSFO-San Francisco) I support Terri's struggle. We do not starve people to death in this nation. But, to many that's not good enough.If I express reservations of any sort concerning the pro-Terri zealots or discuss my concerns about questions of Federalism issues, I am questioned about my Christianity. Some say "you are brainwashed by "G-D Michael Schiavo"...

Teddy Kennedy and the Hemlock Society and Ron Wyden and so many others want Terri dead too.
I got Dr. Cheshire mixed up with Dr. Hammesfahr who did spend ten hours with Terri.
I don't now. Lots of couples don't mention sensitive stuff like that to their parents.
And since she was bulimic, I'd be willing to bet that's why she didn't get pregnant.
