The shot heard around the Internet has been fired on FreeRepublic.com The owner Jim Robinson and his moderators have launched a sniper style purge against members that disagree with the President’s ‘guest worker’ amnesty or support more control of illegal immigration. Free Republic is an amazing tool for those looking for a good debate and news from around the country.
The problem for the administration of the site is that their creation is allowing the participants to learn that the Bush immigration record and plans are shockingly out of line with the views of most conservatives. The management’s answer to this conflict between the majority of conservatives and the influence of the White House on their Web site has become electronic executions and censorship.
Members and readers of Free Republic would be surprised to know that many members of their community have fallen silent on the discussions about illegal immigration lately because free speech is an illusion on FR.com. They are silent because they have been banned from the Web site without warning, cause, or explanation in most cases. For weeks the moderators have been suspending and banning new members that chimed in quickly on the immigration debates.
Now this trend has broadened as the first groups of long-term users were suspended or banned this past week. Although Robinson and his staff removed many members of the Free Republic community in the first few days of the purge, those that religiously support President Bush’s immigration plan, open borders and approve of public benefits for illegal aliens remain on the forum. Those that were banned were the members that wanted more done to control illegal immigration and a strict observance to the President’s Oath of Office.
Not give up.
The political reality out there in MSM and academic and Hollywood brainwashland is that the Dems are using the Hispanics for a voting block power base.
As with all their voting block power bases they have to be sure the problems they care about are never solved or they would no long be able to be manipulated by the Dems to vote for them.
This goes for all of their voting blocks, BTW.
There is a way to convert a voting block without giving up your principles.
Did the Republican party, the party of Lincoln, the party that ended slavery, give up its principles when the Southerners got angry with the Dems when they started to champion black civil rights and the solid Democrat South started moving to the Republican party?
The Dems call us racist, but no Southerner votes for us for that reason now. They vote with us because they are patriots and believe in God.
We fought illegal immigration head on here in California and we lost because the Dems controlled the MSM, academia and Hollywood. So, we had to get smarter about the way we do a slow sneak to the same objective...keeping America true to its principles and keeping America safe from destruction.
You may not agree with the strategies we have adopted (my personal favorites are Pied Piper and End Run to the 11 o'clock news), but we are doing this because we think this guerrilla war we are waging in our own country against the MSM and the Dems to win Hispanics to see that our economic freedom (which they like about this country) and our respect for family and God (which is what they value in their own culture) is in their best interests, and together we will then control the border for the best interests of all in America.
It's NOT "if you can't lick them, join them."
It's "if you can't lick them, get them to join you."

I want to see you back up your accusation of Luis with concrete facts. Post a link where he said he supported illegal immigration. Prove it.

We definitely agree on that. It is a delicate subject. But it is unfortunately true.
There are some advocates of stronger illegal control, as we all are, that have varying degrees of racist overtones. I know this for a fact. It is not rocket science, but it takes a great deal of patience to discern who is who.
As you probably know, it is a huge challenge to do house keeping here, and it is not always done without terror.
But it remains a challenge just the same. We cannot allow anyone to sully what we believe to be a good reputation. It damages everything if we fail in this challenge.
We are all tasked with that difficult responsibility. The mods have been great when we don't.

Our economy is booming. Our standard of living has never been better.

Bottom line. I never said you got JoeHadenuf banned. Joe was a loose cannon and his banning was no surprise. That particular thread wasn't that vicious to be pulled. You were there. its to bad JackelopeBreeder has been banned, too. He was also involved.
I stand by everything I said about that nights thread. I've never been banned, never had a time out, and had less than 5 post pulled since I joined the FR over two years ago. Can you say the same?
I just want him to back them up with facts.
His response to me proved he can't. He's good at name-calling and fabricating charges, but when called on it, he runs and hides.
I haven't read enough about it to determine what it was or wasn't.........
