Why do you keep defending this behavior? Were you ever involved in a similar situation and feel like you were treated unfairly? Rules were broken, punishment meted out. It's done and over.

BS! We partied and had a good time when we served too. But there was always someone that could drive and we never took off our clothes!!! AND we were always mindful that we represented our country both on and off duty during our tenure in the military! Anything else was a dereliction of duty.

If guys got into fights or drunken brawls, they got into trouble. (And yes, it happened, but you sure didn't want it to happen because when your CO found out you paid a price!)

These women should pay a price too. I hope they will. They took off their UNIFORMS to join in! That's disgusting! Women have died and sacrificed while wearing those same uniforms. While serving this country. That's no small matter to those of us who've served.

During "extremely" stressful times!

AF issues Article 15 to top military lawyer

USAF Link Public News Releases ^ | 12/22/2004 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas | (AFPN)

Posted on 12/22/2004 8:10:15 PM PST by axes_of_weezles AF issues Article 15 to top military lawyer 12/22/2004 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- The commander of Air Education and Training Command completed nonjudicial punishment action against the Air Force’s former top military lawyer Dec. 21.

Following a review of an Air Force inspector general investigation into allegations of wrongdoing, Gen. Donald G. Cook, AETC commander, punished Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Fiscus. General Fiscus received nonjudicial punishment under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for conduct unbecoming an officer, fraternization, obstruction of justice and violating a lawful general regulation. As a result of these offenses, General Fiscus was reprimanded and given forfeitures of pay.

In addition, General Cook recommended to Air Force Secretary Dr. James G. Roche that General Fiscus retire in a grade lower than major general. General Cook also recommended the investigation into these offenses be referred for appropriate action to Air Force officials charged with overseeing the Judge Advocate Professional Rules of Conduct and the designation and certification of Air Force lawyers.

Secretary Roche and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper transferred this matter to General Cook to ensure the full range of administrative and disciplinary options available to a commander would be considered in determining an appropriate resolution of the case. This put the decision in the hands of a four-star general with 35 years of military service.

General Fiscus held the Air Force’s top military legal position as the Judge Advocate General from Feb. 25, 2002, until Sept. 22, 2004, when he was relieved pending the resolution of the allegations against him.

We expect the same from our leaders.

Do you think he got the same treatment as this Spec4?

The previous post was in response to #508.

RightOnline's self righteousness kind of perturbs me when the lead Lawyer for the USAF did worse and got less punishment.

You do realize they were taking away a pay grade don't you?

I'd say they were holding him pretty accountable. General Fiscus was reprimanded and given forfeitures of pay also.

So what is your point?

Perhaps I'm missing something here. Thanks

Axes: I'm a former enlisted and a current officer. The phrase "here ya go Mr Ring-Knocker" was disrespectfull and childish. The specialist got knocked down to PFC and the General lost a star. Who do you think lost more monthly pay?!?!?
What was your service again???? How far did you progress???

They aren't. They are members of the United States military.

NOT IN PUBLIC!!!!!!!!

They weren't in public. They were in a combat zone, where they're "in public" 24/7. Get a grip and put this into perspective.

Why do you keep trying to crucify troops for a very minor infraction? You remind me of the people who wanted to discharge/imprison the Marine for killing the wounded man. It's really easy to judge from the comfort of your own living room.

So what is your point?

Don't know about his, but my point is it's absolutely disgraceful to see folks lining up to criticize the young men and women on the front lines, ready to destroy their careers because a few got drunk and a couple got carried away. It's disgusting!

So I guess you're comfortable with the half dozen or so "panty-raid photo fools" who are now or soon will be serving time in prison? Rules were broken, and now they're paying, right?

WRONG!
