In the last three months the obsessed minority of freepers but very vocal who hate President Bush have been bombarding us with every illegal immigration thread under the sun so they have their "BASH BUSH ORGY".
Since these freepers want to deport every illegal immigrant, here is the challenge for you:
Pick up your phone and report to the INS about an illegal immigrant and his employer. I am sure you know at least one illegal immigrant who works in a convenient store, on a gas station, clean the garbage in your office, clean the bathroom at your work place... And I am sure you know one of these employers who hire illegal immigrants. Go ahead Macho Guys, do your duty and report them to the INS. Let us see how courageous you are and let us see your action following your rhetoric.
Go ahead, ping each other and show us your heroism.
Now we know why it's important to put an end to the H1B program.
Illegals suck. I don't know any, but when I run across the bastards their asses are mine.

I did. In fact I did it so much, I received a fax back from the Border Patrol asking me to stop faxing them. They said they had received my fax 15 times and forwarded it to an agent for investigation. Two weeks later the illegal was arrested and deported.
INS hasn't been active in deporting known illegals.
The H1B program is required to fill up a lot high tech jobs.
Now because you are a moron you will say that H1B worker are hired because they get payed low wages. You will be wrong again because the company must show the INS and Labor department the wage of the H1B worker and this salary must be equivalent to any other employee in the same position and with the same experience.

jstultus, doing away with H1Bs would allow you to return and enrich whatever paradise it was that you left in the first place. They probably have a need for that talent for the schoolyard insult that you have mastered to such a fine art. And while it would be a tremendous loss for the United States, we would just have to be strong enough to survive without you. Sniff.
While I am tired of the one issue diatribes..I believe the concern is about illegal immigrants, not legal immigrants.
There are others concerned about importing workers, free trade or outsourcing..
We are not addressing the problem of illegal immigration really and haven't in decades..
It is a costly proposition and we can't build a fence around the border..How do you roundup and deport millions logistically?

What's really interesting about this is that not only was he an H1B, he was an H1B who attended an American school while here on a student visa.
Think about that for a minute, and wonder whether an American couldn't attend that school because he was filling a slot there.

Not true in Virginia as a whole[1], not true in Prince William County, Virginia specifically.
But then..Virginia isn't a "liberal paradise" like most of those places where local law enforcement agencies refuse to help the immigration authorities.
[1]Local law enforcement authorities actually asked the state legislature to make a law specifically allowing them the ability to detain people who are suspected of comitting a crime and are not here legally, mainly as a reaction to the problems caused by MS-13 and other street gangs. The state legislature followed through with that law.
By the way, since I noticed that you live there, Texas is one of 4 states that gives in-state tuition to illegal aliens. The others are California (surprise, surprise), Utah, and New York (another big surprise).
Virginia has a bill pending to disallow illegal aliens from getting in-state tuition. We also don't give them driver's licenses.

I was mistaken...the bill isn't to prevent them from getting in-state tuition, it is to prevent them from even attending Virginia colleges.
Even better. Hopefully, they'll all move out to friendlier states if/when this bill passes.

You can be a Bush supporter and disagree with him on one or more issues.
Some time back I wrote an essay here on FR that I would take a bullet for this President because in the long run he was more important to insure the liberty and freedom of my children than I. I'm not so sure I'd do that today. Here are some of the President’s comments and some truths of what he didn’t say.

Name the jobs, Mr. President. You can’t.

Swell, the 55 to 67 age group is just going to have to work and pay into the same rotten ponzi scheme. Why isn’t your plan available to ALL Americans? Oh, yes we must provide for the Mexican Totalization to give illegals SSA benefits with private accounts.

Forget about those over 55, they can suffer with the same old mess. They don’t need to leave anything to their kids.

Unless of course its an armed Latino gang growing pot on National Forest land. But don’t you damned citizens get caught with a gun on Federal land...it’s a crime!

With the exception of Mexico. We need their peasants for our elite to feel “compassionate” by paying them below minimum wage to clean the toilets and to line the pockets of special interests groups who keep us in office!

I have a friend who spent three years trying to get into IT programs. The courses were over 50% foreign students, a boon for the schools since they pay full tuition. Or at least someone pays it for them, maybe the company they work for. He finally gave up the quest and went into technical writing, doing articles for a number of computer mags. He went on from there to work for a couple of Silicon Valley startups. Anyway, he certainly believes he was pushed out of line to make room for H1Bs. It certainly wasn't due to a lack of ability on his part as he's managed to succeed in the field without the degree. It did take him longer, and the lack of paper could still be a problem down the road.
