In the last three months the obsessed minority of freepers but very vocal who hate President Bush have been bombarding us with every illegal immigration thread under the sun so they have their "BASH BUSH ORGY".
Since these freepers want to deport every illegal immigrant, here is the challenge for you:
Pick up your phone and report to the INS about an illegal immigrant and his employer. I am sure you know at least one illegal immigrant who works in a convenient store, on a gas station, clean the garbage in your office, clean the bathroom at your work place... And I am sure you know one of these employers who hire illegal immigrants. Go ahead Macho Guys, do your duty and report them to the INS. Let us see how courageous you are and let us see your action following your rhetoric.
Go ahead, ping each other and show us your heroism.
Preferred Packaging in Phoenix, AZ.
The Golden Corral in Sierra Vista, AZ.
You sure have gotten a lot of hits on your thread. Have you read them all yet?
Good for you spiff, good for you. You deserve a medal for your action.
Already did.
Now, YOU do it!
Smart alec...
So did you call the INS on these two companies.
No I will not do it.
The fact that only 6 have been trained so far could mean several things:
1. Very few local governments want immigration laws enforced.
2. Very few local governments are willing to allocate funds for immigration law enforcement.
3. The Buchanan/Tancredo anti-Bush crowd doesn't really want immigration laws enforced, they just want an excuse to bash Bush.
4. Local police don't want to create bad relations with Hispanic locals.
5. Government grants haven't been made available.
6. Illegal immigrants aren't considered a problem by very many local police departments.
7. Politicians who demand the deportation of illegals really mean they want other states' illegals deported, not the ones in their state who are keeping their economy alive.
But I think its PUT UP OR SHUT UP TIME for the smarmy Congressmen on the Immigration Reform Caucus. If they are serious about deporting illegals and sanctioning employers they should start in their own districts first. I would love to see the members of the caucus in my area try to get local law enforcement agencies to raid employers of illegals. It would be their last term in Congress and they know it.
In the one case, yes.
In the other, I called the Social Security Administration to report the fraudulent use of their documents.
I also report every sighting of very suspected border intruder I have. Border Patrol is on speed dial on my cell phone, as well as my wife's cell. My kids are great spotters too. We've flushed border intruders out of neighborhoods full of kids playing in their yards. I've reported illegals squatting in and desecrating a veteran's cemetary. I've turned them in while they were walking through a sensitive area on a sensitive closed military installation.
Someone here made a truly stupid statement, saying that nothing can be done about illegals who are already here. Nonsense. Have our military (whose function is to protect THIS country), round them up and deport them. And once the perks dry up, many illegal aliens will leave on their own accord.
While I agree with you 100% on spotting illegal immigrants crossing the borders an reporting it it the border control officers, our biggest disagreement is that I will not report an illegal immigrant working in a restaurants cleaning a table, or cleaning the floor and the bathroom in a mall, you will report them.
Did you ever watch all those people on COPS getting their "civil rights" violated, so they can be subject to "false imprisonment"?
It's a crying shame, I tell you..
Great post bayouroad.
I assume you meant, "I do not want to inform the INS on about illegal immigrants, but if you are willing to do so start in your city or town."
My question to you is, "Why not?"
Actually, I liked the premise of your original post, and indeed, also wonder if all the critics of Bush's policy on immigration have tried to report illegals to the INS (or, I guess, it's the ICE now). It made me think, at least, about any illegals that I could possibly know. I don't know of any right now. But if I do in the future, you can be sure I will report them.
I ask again, why don't you want to report any illegals? It seems very strange to me that you wouldn't. Do you think illegal immigrants are a good thing?
For the record, I'm not a "Bush Basher" on this, or any issue. I don't care for his immigration policy, but I don't go around to threads here, jumping on the bandwagon so to speak, constantly accusing (as some have apparently) Bush of being a weak president, unable to protect us.
I relegate this (immigration) issue to the same dustbin that I put the Campaign Finance "Reform" disaster: It's something I dislike about the President, but, then again, he's been far superior to the 'Toon, and IS far superior to any Dem that could ever come down the pipe.
Thank YOU for reading it :~)...sw
You should try since our leaders wont do anything about.
Thank you, dear Spiff. You know my own Mother is buried in that Veterans cemetary at the Fort.
You're my hero...
Do you believe that I haven't done this (called INS to report illegal aliens) quite a few times?
Or had a face to face meeting with the Mayor and the City Manager in the Mayors office?
Or addressed the City Council at a public meeting?
Or the Spark City Assistant Police Chief?
Or met with the Watch Commander for the Washoe County Sheriffs dept?
Or sat with Congressman Jim Gibbons in his office and discussed the problems with illegal aliens in Nevada?
Or called twenty Reps at their DC offices in the same afternoon asking for their support on a Bill I believe in?
You are barking up the wrong tree, Sonny. If I didn't care about the problem and hadn't spent many hours trying to correct it, why do you think I would even bother trying to get my ideas across to FR members?
I am not the kind of guy who sits wringing his hands about what to do when I see a problem. I don't try to engineer a way around solving it as you limp wristed folks like to do, I want it fixed, so I charge head on and get to work.
I have probably written half a dozen essays on illegal immigration and what I see as possibilites we could do for the correction of the problem.

I know living in Massachusetts must be tough but how about telling us what you've done lately. Are you sure you aren't a closet Kennedy supporter? He loves these illegals more than the president does.
Have you ever turned in an illegal?
Let me ask you a question that COEXERJ145 ducked away from.
