In the last three months the obsessed minority of freepers but very vocal who hate President Bush have been bombarding us with every illegal immigration thread under the sun so they have their "BASH BUSH ORGY".
Since these freepers want to deport every illegal immigrant, here is the challenge for you:
Pick up your phone and report to the INS about an illegal immigrant and his employer. I am sure you know at least one illegal immigrant who works in a convenient store, on a gas station, clean the garbage in your office, clean the bathroom at your work place... And I am sure you know one of these employers who hire illegal immigrants. Go ahead Macho Guys, do your duty and report them to the INS. Let us see how courageous you are and let us see your action following your rhetoric.
Go ahead, ping each other and show us your heroism.
You know who the biggest "Mexican hater" is? Vicente Fox. A brilliant, wealthy, well-spoken gentleman whose solution to his country's crises is to encourage millions to break American laws, perform manual labor for next to nothing, and crawl back across the border with USD's. He doesn't want to instill his country with pride and hope, he wants to suck off the American teat and pretend that there is no shame in it.
I can understand that argument, and I could make a good case for and against that point, but Mexico's best interests are not high on my list of considerations. Even if I grant that Mexico would be better off if we deported all the illegals(I don't), There are American economic interests and political realities to contend with.
We can both agree that illegal immigration is detrimental to America and Mexico in many ways, but it is shortsighted to believe that illegal immigration has no benefits at all. It wouldn't be tolerated if it didn't have benefits.
I believe illegal immigration is caused by arbitrary and unresponsive immigration quotas. These quotas cause a shortage of labor which in turn cause a great incentive for border crossings and unscrupulous business practices. The America birth rate is under sustainability levels. With legal and illegal immigration we rose only 1% in population last year. This limits our economic growth.
I think most American can agree that illegals who are drug dealers, gang members, welfare cheats, or just plain unproductive should be deported. Where you and I differ is the best method to solve the problem of illegals who are already here and future border crossings. I believe making it easier to enter and work legally from Mexico will reduce illegal immigration. I believe we should allow some productive illegals an opportunity to enter legally. Do they deserve it? No, but practicality is an issue. They are already trained in their jobs and there integration to American society will be easier.
Dubya's guest worker program will make finding unregistered illegals easier by eliminating the need to find illegals who have registered. Deporting the criminal and parasite illegals is unlikely to make things better for Mexico but I prefer them in Mexico.
Unlike you I don't check for a response every 2 minutes. You need to learn patience, because unlike you I also tend to think about what I read before I write. How's that booze?
I read about it from several sources. I got a lot of pings from the isolationist gang.
Whew, that was close. You isolationist Freepers are like bloodhounds on my scent. I fear to press refresh and my sleep is fitful from nightmares of falling for your trap. Oh woe is me.
Someone said to me I seem to enjoy this stuff. The answer is I don't.
Fascinating. I've wanted to ask you the very same question for the last 25 posts but I thought you might retaliate for my impudence with your superior debating skills. Gosh, I admire you.
By nature I am easygoing and shun competition of any sort. And I don't like to argue.
You are very brave too.
But things are getting out of control in this country, and even the soft-spoken have to rise up and holler. And that is what is starting to happen.
You've always presented yourself as softspoken to me. I just feel bad that my unwillingness to bend to your unquestionably advanced ideology has forced you to get rough with me. You are swell. :)
The cousin of one of my employees was killed in a head on car crash. The other driver was an illegal Mexican in a stolen car. The judge let the guy out on $10,000 bail (he had to put up $1,000), and the guy skipped on back to Mexico. That was the end of that, Mexico won't send him back for trial.
Some good neighbor don't you think? By the way, my employee is hispanic and he can't stand illegals, I wonder why.
Why don't you favor a "regime change" in Mexico? What's the problem with ending the rampant corruption there? It would be better for their economy and ours if we had a strong trading partner.
Perhaps, if Mexico in it's present state is so great for us, as you seem to think, we should encourage the depression and corruption of Canada. I mean, if it's good for the south, it's surely good for the north?
I just don't get your logic.
I thought we already had a migrant worker program?
I think it needs to be clear that every non speaking hispanic is not an illegal but may just be a legal migrant worker.
I was wondering the Chinese and Asians who were hired to contruct the RR tracks of America.
Were they migrant workers? Or illegal immagrants? Did they go home after the work was done? Curious.
I can never get the wording on sayings right, although I love using them.
Today I said "Beating a Wet Horse unitll he's Dead" then thought no that doesn't sound right. What is the saying (your tagline) and what does it mean?
Amen!!! Earlier up on this thread is a post describing how many small farms are no longer in business, and Mexico has to import corn and beans.
I'd like to know exactly what the Mexican government is doing with its money. It's certainly not being used to improve the lives of its citizens, or to modernize the country. Oil for food scandal on a smaller scale?
Maybe this is why illegals don't assimilate into our country as they once did. They resent being run out of their own country. A country that refuses to build opportunities for all its people. When we ship them back, we should arm them with a different kind of comic book....
I absolutely agree with you but you have noticed that this great forum has been overwhelmed by an immigration thread every few minutes or so.
End of sarcasm.
Because it is impossible to be done, logistically, money wise, and from human point of view. If you are not willing to pick up the phone and inform the INS about the illegal immigrant bus boy who cleans the table for you in restaurant, then STFU and do not expect the President of the United States to issue an order to deport 15 million illegal immigrants.
Go ahead form a party that will advocate this.
It wasn't impossible for the Mexican government.
What do you mean? let us see your logic here.
Robinson not only should delete this thread, he should delete you.
Go ahead ask him to do it.
HAHAHAHAHa1!!! Now that was funny! The Mexican government try to prevent deaths???!!! HOOO HAAA HHAA HEEE I"m rolling on the floor spliting my sides.
Did you forget the murders of woman and children in Ciudad Juarez? The kidnappings and murder for ransom in Mexico City and pretty much all over? The drug cartels having daily shootouts on the busy streets?
The Mexican government just wants these people gone --- best if they will send dollars back --- but either way Fox wants them gone.
Don't forget Mexico is one of the top 10 richest countries in the world however --- yet poverty for the majority is extreme.
And massive immigration isn't making anything better at all.
