There are sooo many reasons. But my top three:
1) Make up your mind. American or Mexican? Stop shilling for a foreign country. And stop with the hyphenating.

2) No oppressed people here. You want oppressed? Go back to Mexico and see what real oppression is. All the best kinds too. Racial, economical, political, social, etc. You want it? They got it.

3) Speak English well. For that matter speak Spanish well too. Christ! I've met some M.E.C.H.A. folks couldn't put two sensible sentences together in either language.

Well, I guess if you have very low standards. Of course since you measure things on the scale of your towering 1-inch size your sense of proportion is a bit skewed. Compared to an amoeba or a plankton I suppose you're a giant, highly-advanced life form. On the other hand plankton contribute to the ecosystem, so they do something useful, unlike you. The highlight of your life is apparently doing your laundry and breathlessly reporting it on FreeRepublic. I'm sure it must be very exciting deciding whether to put the setting on "cold cold" or "warm cold". What brand of detergent will 1_Inch choose this time? Yeah...I surmised your usage.

Juvenile is one of those words that can be used as both an adjective or a noun...your 'word' is used as a noun.

Following a Latin convention which forms the basis of much of our language, I suppose "juvenalia" would be a plural form of 'juvenalium'.

Only problem is its not a noun I or the author of my dictionary are familiar with. If so, the 'Latinized' plural would be a quasi pig latin derivative.

After 3 people told me about this thread, I had to see it for myself, I'll be breif and be out of here.

A bunch of you have taken some unnecessary heat on this thread. You presented facts, and got the same rhetoric that is usually allowed. It's hard ignoring them and letting a lie, just well...lie there. I'm not capable of it. That's why I've stayed away from FR. I did a Bob Dornan and left before I was told to.

As for activism, that is now looked down on by some of our fellow freepers. Hey, I didn't know the rules had changed and we were thought of as fools. Most of us appreciated all the years that the DC group got in Clinton's face. And the freepers that have traveled half way, sometimes all the way across this country to stand up for fellow citizens that were getting the shaft. Some people sit at a computer all day and criticize those who do something to make it better for all of us and deem themselves "better". Below is how one freeper put it . I'm not going to ping the poster or name "it", because all of you have to listen to more than enough insults. There are more than a few people who despise those who will speak up and put their money where there mouth is.

I've always told all of you these past 6 plus years that even Benjamin Franklin's own son was loyal to the king to the end. You just can't convince people who are operating on greed. 17% of the colonists actively participated in the Revolution. I'm proud to say some of my relatives. The rest of my relatives they ran off their land. You've got a lot more than 17% in this battle, don't let anyone EVER tell you that you can't make a difference. We, as Americans have the right to determine how and where we live through our own self-reliance and not have our culture, our language, our HOMES, our livelihoods, our safety be erased by some PC bureacratic anarchy.

That started showing up a hundred or so posts back. The "Juan and Maria living next door" comment cracked me up. We moved to a small house in Long Beach 20 years ago. The next door neighbors had 17 kids and a flock of chickens in the front yard. Nice people, but the language barrier gets a little frustrating.

Fast forward years later, and I was selling Avon in a low income neighborhood. I tried to bribe my daughters to learn Spanish, so I could sell to the Hispanics moving in. I needed a translator. Unfortunately, they already had too much schoolwork to do, according to them. Nice, hardworking people, who are polite and friendly. Totally family oriented, but I'm not going to ask them for their green cards, ya know??? I've lived in low income neighborhoods off and on for over 26 years, and as long as they aren't gangbangers, I don't care who my neighbor is.

Just because I want our borders protected, does not make me a racist. Just because I want our government to enforce the law of the land does not mean I hate Mexicans. It doesn't make any of us racists. I hope I can speak for all of us when I say that we don't care who you are, or where you came from, as long as you went through the legal process to get here.

That brings me to the abuses that illegals face when they finally make it over the border. We have slavery in America. Can you imagine? Just because they're here illegally gives no one the right to treat them like dogs or whores...or to die, packed into a locked cargo container in the middle of the desert.

I don't hate people whose work ethic and commitment to family, puts many of us to shame. I do hate what it has done to our infrastructure, however. Hospitals are closing. Schools are falling apart, and the safety net is chewed full of holes. It has to be fixed. They need to leave because it is killing us to try and support them. The jobs that Americans won't do? Try the jobs that Americans expect to get paid at least minimum wage for doing. Picking fruit and vegetables? There are a couple of options. Imo, the best one is to use prison labor. The owner of the farm pays minimum wage rates to the county, state, or Federal government, who in turn put half of it into a savings account for each inmate who participates. The other is to bus in people who would volunteer to harvest the produce for a certain wage. I've changed my mind about using high school kids for obvious reasons. They need too much supervision.

Wouldn't it be nice if these people could transform Mexico(and other countries) into a country that they didn't have to leave? They need a little infusion of the Spirit of '76, if you catch my drift. I could say more, but I don't want a knock on my door.
