Is a bird like that real difficult with the care and diet?
Actually, he's pretty easy.
He eats a pellet-formed food, and then once a day, this stuff that we mix up once month: you buy it in a bag, and then cook it for 5 minutes with some water... add some frozen veggies and a slice of torn up wheat-bread.
You then freeze portions in baggies...Thaw baggies as neccessary and give him a (room-temperature) serving per day, usally about two cereal spoons.
We call this bit "Birdie Breakfast".
I know it sounds complicated and a hassled, but it really is not.
Care?
You want to keep the cage clean.
I change all of our cages twice a week.
( we also have 'Keets, and a guinea pig, and a cat)
I keep my house at about 65 degrees in the winter, and the new bird seems fine.
This new bird is just a joy... SO fun and interactive!
( Beautiful plumage!)
