You were "taught" WHAT in school.......that after WW I,we were supposed to be "nicer" to Germany?If so,that is patently ridiculous,absolutely devoid of any fact,and something I most assuredly was NEVER taught that in any school I graduated from;not a one.No wonder you are incapable of having a discussion on this topic,let alone a debate;you are far too unequipped and ill-educated beyond belief!

After WW I,absolutely NONE of the nations on the winning side,were about to "treat Germany nicely" and they didn't! And that's what set up Germany for Hitler's rise to power and WW II was inevitable,INEVITABLE because of the Treaty of Versailles and France's determination to not just crush Germany,but to decimate Germany for France's previous ignominious defeats by Germany.

Come on kid,tell me what the Balfour Agreement was and why it is relevant to today's Mideast mess.Then you might care to tackle war reparations and why Japan couldn't EVER be ready for a democratic form of government.Just try....

interesting how your first paragraph disagrees with me and then the second one confirms what i said. we were taught that after ww1 we didnt treat germany nice enough and so that helped bring about the rise of hitler and ww2. thats fine if you think every war you fight should obligate you to now make the country you defeated into a better nation than it was. i dont think so. i also dont think that trying to form a democracy with the rights we have in america guarantees you success in this endeavor. you seem to think the joys of freedom will tranform the major principles of islam which are against freedom and democracy. i guess you have a lot of faith in our ability to change hundreds of years of murder and oppression of a religion that preaches hatred like islam does.

i dont think we have to kill every muslim or convert them to christianity. we do, however, need to confront islam as an enemy to our way of life. we shouldnt try to hide behind the title "war on terror" when its only muslims we are fighting and muslims are united against us.
