After WW I,absolutely NONE of the nations on the winning side,were about to "treat Germany nicely" and they didn't! And that's what set up Germany for Hitler's rise to power and WW II was inevitable,INEVITABLE because of the Treaty of Versailles and France's determination to not just crush Germany,but to decimate Germany for France's previous ignominious defeats by Germany.
Come on kid,tell me what the Balfour Agreement was and why it is relevant to today's Mideast mess.Then you might care to tackle war reparations and why Japan couldn't EVER be ready for a democratic form of government.Just try....

interesting how your first paragraph disagrees with me and then the second one confirms what i said. we were taught that after ww1 we didnt treat germany nice enough and so that helped bring about the rise of hitler and ww2. thats fine if you think every war you fight should obligate you to now make the country you defeated into a better nation than it was. i dont think so. i also dont think that trying to form a democracy with the rights we have in america guarantees you success in this endeavor. you seem to think the joys of freedom will tranform the major principles of islam which are against freedom and democracy. i guess you have a lot of faith in our ability to change hundreds of years of murder and oppression of a religion that preaches hatred like islam does.
i dont think we have to kill every muslim or convert them to christianity. we do, however, need to confront islam as an enemy to our way of life. we shouldnt try to hide behind the title "war on terror" when its only muslims we are fighting and muslims are united against us.

And your apparent attempt to claim we caused WWII by our actions in an attempt to parallel what is currently happening in the MidEast is a false premise.
1. when i say "we" i dont mean the united states specifically. i would assume the liberal teachers wish to blame the US and the other allies who defeated the germans in ww1. im not blaming america at all for causing ww2 just saying thats what we are taught. it sounds to me like nopardon agrees with that since she is suggesting the treatment of germany after ww1 caused the rise of hitler and ww2.
2. im not trying to draw a parallel between ww2 and the war on islam. in fact, im doing the opposite while nopardon is trying to draw a parallel. i say we cant turn terrorists into civilized people and i get in return a list of quiz questions about the post-ww2 reconstruction.
it was a silly attack technique used against me of avoiding the issue by throwing out non-essential facts coupled with insulting the other persons intelligence. then spending the rest of the argument demanding answers to unimportant questions and assaulting the other persons vastly superior intelligence.
im also going to add that ive been attacked and even called one of the worst things possible (liberal) for arguing that we shouldnt be rebuilding iraq (not against the war just the rebuilding effort). the same people calling me this would argue against things like welfare, social security, medicaid, medicare, subsidized healthcare, subsidized housing, minimum wage (as would i) and yet they dont seem to have a problem spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a bunch of muslims in iraq. somehow im the one being called a liberal. amazing.

in that case why not rebuild the entire world? we dont do it because it takes a lot of our resources that we could use to better our own lives.

we didnt destroy iraq or the whole world. is what i said so hard to understand? places like africa, eastern europe, asia are in pretty bad shape also but we dont go around putting together governments and infrastructure for all of them. our resources are better spent on ourselves. its enough that about half of my earnings goes to the lowlifes in america i dont need to have to give more for the lowlifes around the globe.

Due to the excessive punishments inflicted specifically upon Germany and her allies,peripherally,those nations sunk into depression,which,in turn,set off the world wide depression,which culminated in not only Hitler's and Mussolini's rise to power,but also,commingled with America's gigantic stock BUBBLE,led to the CRASH of 29. There's a great deal more to this,but her,I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible,so that even you can understand it. :-)
