[history]
The deer hunter accused of killing six hunters and wounding two others in the woods of northern Wisconsin is believed to have resided in the Toledo area as a youth and attended Jones Junior High School.
Chai Vang, 36, of St. Paul, is listed as a student at the South Toledo school during the 1982-1983 school year, according to Toledo Public School documents.
Willie Braggs, a social studies teacher at Jones, said he remembers Mr. Vang as a student. "He was in my class in 1982 and he seemed like a pretty good student," Mr. Braggs said. "It was a real shock [to hear of the shootings]."
A wave of Laotian refugees was brought to the Toledo area in 1979 and the early 1980s. They were resettled here with the help of church groups and other local sponsors. It was not clear yesterday when Mr. Vang's family came to Toledo or when they left.
By 1994, only about 35 Hmong families remained in the area, largely because many families moved to other cities where there were more jobs available and larger concentrations of others in their ethnic group.
About 24,000 Hmong live in St. Paul.

Well, it seem as though Vang possibly had some outstanding warrants... I don't believe that is very smart.. Lame.

Means that we are no longer a news thread and should quit filling up the news forum.

How do you "know" when a person is a nutcase? Shouldn't you just be safe and call them every time?

I was fired once, (well, I've been fired more than once) but this particular time, I was told if I came to the office to dispute the termination, I would be arrested.

"Your use of the term Posse is also out of line."
I was gonna say the say thing.
It's blatantly clear Credo Deus is blaming the victims.

Your city background, lack of knowledge about hunting and hunting parties, your wild conjectures and lame similes are ridiculous.
I suppose you'll keep throwing out statements with little or no substantiation, imaginary scenarios that contribute nothing to the discussion, until people quit falling for your little game.
If you think I'm flaming you, I am. Your posts are ridiculous, you've been called on them time and time again, and with each assertion you make, you get farther and farther from the reality of the situation.
You gave a totally stupid answer to my question about why you assessed Vang as "not very smart." You've forfeited any remaining shred of pretense at contributing to this discussion in any meaningful way.
That's called baiting. That's what trolls do. That's what I think you are.

Florida...where else? It was an old storm water main that had failed, and started washing away the material from under the parking lot.
The parking lot had been designed to show signs of subgrade failure, but they built it so well, it actually acted like a trampoline. Just hung there until gravity finally took over.

You did note that Vang is being looked at as a possible connection in unsolved murder of another hunter didn't you?
Jim Southworth. Shot twice in the back after he asked a trespasser to leave.
Can you say "serial killer"?

They are checking that now. But the suspects were three Asian men, in a pickup truck that matches the description of the one that Vang owns and it is reported that Vang was hunting in Sawyer County (where the current murders occurred) with two friends who are currently unidentified.
