And that the trespasser had been told to leave and he was staying to make sure he went. Don't forget that part. They had, at that point, every reason to believe that when they got there they would find Wilkers by himself, the trespasser having already left.
when they left the cabin they are now a posse on a mission of removing a subject from said property,
No, they are not. You continue to imagine things that are not there. There is nothing in the statement that says that. It says that they went to join Wilkers but it does not give a reason, for all you know they were going to see if any damage had been done to the tree stand a far more likely possibility then your wild imaginings.
"In a situation like this, you never know what kind of nut job your dealing with."
Your previous statements imply that the hunters should've planned for a "worst-case scenario." Following that logic, shouldn't the police be called every time someone is fired?
How do you know? What do you base that on?
Not the cops, huh?
Not the cops, huh?
All he had to do is get off private property --- and all would be fine. Why would 8 people have to be armed to ask a man to leave private property? That would actually be more threatening having 8 armed people tell you to stop trespassing --- it certainly looks that by being unarmed, they were actually trying not to seem threatening.
Good one, new to me. I once saw a sink hole (pot hole on steroids!) swallow a car some thirty feet deep on US 2 in da UP. Lots of iron mines up there and some of the stopes got real close to the surface. Well, given enough time, even rock gets tired! This poor lady was zipping along about 10:00 pm when the roof fell in.
Damn, don't you just hate it when that happens.

There were five BTW. Unarmed. Walking to meet up with their friend. Who they expected, more then likely, to find alone.
As to inspecting the deer stand, that would have been a priority. Because you climb up in the stand well before dawn. And if the stand gives way you can easily fall to your death.
Not cops, necessarily, but handy. What about places without security? Should they call the cops when terminating an employee?
I once saw a sinkhole swallow a parking lot, and kill two people. (Not actually witnessed it, just the aftermath) Also took down the front half of a Hyatt Hotel. Happened all at once. 80 feet deep 150 feet long and 75 feet wide
"..then someone opened there pie hole and yelled that they called the cops, that was a real slick move..."
See, there you go again! You're stating that what someone said precipitated this incident. That implies fault and you are laying blame for this incident at the feet of the victims and that is WRONG!
And you've got an inflammatory way with words.
