Regarding the Internet rumors, no member of Freeman's staff made any derogatory or discriminating comments towards Jenna or Barbara Bush. We are a non-partisan establishment and pride ourselves on having a diverse clientele. The Bush twins or any member of the first family are welcome to join us for dinner anytime.

Now I am even more proud of The University of Oklahoma and University of Nebraska fans that booed Tom Brokaw last Saturday night when it was announced he was at the game! It truly was priceless!
Imagine he can get a table at this restaurant with no problem!
As an Oklahoman that wishes Oklahoma could find a reason for existence or validation beyond OU football, if what you report is true, that was not a proud day for Oklahoma or Nebraska. Brokaw is the only MSM anchor that comes close to getting things right. He certainly got things right about the WWII Generation.
I love to sleep all day on Saturdays, holding my wife of 26 years, oblivious to OU, OSU, or TU football. It's wonderful.
One "OU Magic" moment for me was in the late '80s. My boss who, along with his young sons, always wore "Crimson & Cream" every fall Saturday, joked about the scandal of co-ed rape in the athletic dorm. "He must have split her open", he said. This was the same time OU athletes/criminals were firing weapons indiscriminately from the athletic dorm in Norman.
Remember those hallowed days? The fall of "COACH/GOD 'S'"??
I'm raising girls, and don't worship these "folks".

You guys are nuts making outrageous comments and "threats" over something that is rumor only. We have greater things to accomplish than to give our ideological opponents a hissy-fit that validates their skewed opinions of us to begin with. Agreed. There are many battles to face. This isn't one worth fighting.
And those that call the place have too much time on their hands.

The two of them are welcome at my home ... especially the one with the darker hair.

I saw a pair of them one time escorting Janet Reno walking on Shelter Island in San Diego. They were small and unobtrusive and it didn't even occur to me that they were SS until long after they had walked past. They don't try to look like muscle. But I wouldn't want to show up on their radar as a threat!
Reno smiled at our kids.

I'm thrilled to hear that. That along with the election results should be quite humbling to the MSM.

I bet that the Secret Service Agents were glad that the Bush Twins were refused service at this place.

Does anyone know about Jenna Bush's political leanings? I know her, but I never discussed politics with her. Well, I did talk about 9/11 and the World Trade Center.

"smashed potatoes." i've been noticing it too... it's so not new... we've been saying "smashed potatoes" for eons in our family...

I read an older People mag interview with the whole family. The girls both say they're not that political.
Barbara said her dad's "cute...especially when he wears T-shirts and jeans, then he's the cutest." LOL

They always ask for a callback number, and a chic place actually will call the day of the reservation. They also keep a tally of names and numbers that stiff them on reservations.
One way to get noticed is to make a res and then call in a day or two to apologetically cancel. This type of behavior is appreciated by owners who lose bucks holding tables for no shows.
The owner BTW was rude and thoroughly uncool, but Manhattan hot spots are and have been known for these traits. A famous story about Josephine Baker, Walter Winchell, and 21 tells a lot about NYC chic.

"You should also tell them that the food and service is lousy. We could start a miny urban legend about the place."
What the hell is wrong with me? I just don't see the point of smearing and slandering a restaurant for any reason.
You guys are psycho.

The 1964 Civil Rights Act banned discrimination based on membership in five protected classes: race, religion, color, ethnic origin, and sex. I was born Republican, and I'm guessing that the Bush twins were, too. Doesn't that count as ethnic origin?

Maybe Bloomberg can send unforgiving health inspecters there for a spot inspection.

Purely out of curiosity, and entirely off topic...
Why yes...yes it is! As is a health and safety inspector finding a burning cigarette in the bathroom stalls. It may also be multiple fines for each occurance depending on the nature of the violation. But who would ever turn in a reputable resturant for something so socialistically PC?
