Why DID he do it?
a) Because the votes really weren't there? (Never stopped them before)
b) Because Hillary and Bill told him if he screws it up for Hillary in 08 he would be found floating face down in a Ketchup vat?
c) he was broke - out of money?
d) Teddy Kennedy went over to his house and twisted his arm, promising him something big? (McAllif's job? - oh, wait that would be Bill and Killary's to give wouldn't it...)
Now A seems most logical, but logic has never mattered before. I think it was clear that they were waiting not only on ohio but also New Mexico and Iowa, and their inside operatives were telling them there was just too much scrutiny being paid to ballot storage and counting proceedures for them to get their hands on them as in the past. I would LOVE to review the telephone records from Kerry's house last night.
I'll take b), with a side of d) - I'm sure that Hillary twisted his arm somehow (or his arm was twisted on her behalf) since she didn't want him excreting where she plans to eat. Also, he may be delusional enough to be thinking of trying again in 2008 himself.
