I just re-thought my post and want to add something briefly. For me to be more forgiving of the equipment, I would want it, and its operators to - at all times - be under the control and supervision of airline employees, with government employees specifically barred from using it. Why? Mission creep. I don't want to have to walk through 10 of these things on my way to work.

Counter propaganda came out about that today. I heard several times this morning about full body scans causing cancer and such.

So someone is already gearing up to keep the full body devices protested out of airports.
