Yes, they use contaminated blood and have used the actual infected bombers.

I saw pictures recently of a lady, who had been hit with 100's of pieces of the "Dirty stuff".

I would not think the nuts and bolts would get that hot and with so many wounds, there is a good chance of contacting the disease.
