Yankee alert system was disconnected - Jul. 23, 2004

A lineman for Central Vermont Public Service Corp. mistakenly disconnected a key portion of the emergency alert system for four towns surrounding the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant last week.

It was several days before they realized they werent recieving 911 calls? What, did they think all the criminals were on vacation and thats why it was so slow?
