I remember where I saw references to OBL being the "Lion of Islam" before. Remember earlier this year when there were rumors flying around that OBL was dead? On Steve Quayle's site he claimed that Osama was almost certainly dead because the jihadis were referring to him as the lion of Islam in the forums then. He said it is a term only reserved for those who have martyred themselves for Islam, i.e:- already dead.

I know this is coming from Steve Quayle and not everyone agrees on his reliability but I seem to recall reading this on other sites as well, just can't remember which ones.

I am disturbed that all this comes amidst all the increased background chatter that has been escalating in recent weeks. It may be the "go" signal as many of the images posted on the Islamist websites since late last year depict violent scenes with UBL looking on from the clouds or the background as if he is already in the afterlife. The most recent images follow this pattern. Take every image of Bin Laden and a fantasized future attack from the past year or so and you may find a substantial portion depict UBL as dead.

So if the belief up to this point among his followers was that he was alive, and the "chatter" of the past year depicted him in paradise at the time of the coming strike, then the "Rubicon" is the point at which his followers no longer perceive a "live UBL" and they accept a "martyred UBL" (if people start believing he is dead, and there has been nothing further posted on that AFAIK).

The next (or post-attack) video/audio tape of UBL would therefore for the first time be that of one perceived to be beckoning martyrs from beyond the grave.

His last will and testament.

The issue of whether or not he is dead, (and if he is dead for how long), is largely irrelevant. What is relevant is not the reality but the perception.

UBL's well-publicized "martyrdom" (regardless of the actual time and manner of his demise) may be associated in some way with the coming operation. An announcement of his passing (whether or not it was recent) may be that signal. The "belly of the eagle" speech directly tied this coming strike to his supposed "martyrdom".

This "death chatter" might be the signal they have been waiting for.

Four major developments are coinciding to indicate imminence:

1) threat level being publicly described as unprecedented (past 2-3 weeks)
2) 90 day truce expiring (past 7-10 days)
3) emergence of elegiacal "martyrdom chatter" (past 24 hours?)
4) expiration of Saudi amnesty (this weekend?)

The actual event (the reality) is not the trigger - - the "breaking of the story" (the perception) is the trigger.

Maybe we will go to orange.
