That's how I interpreted your tat. I love the phoenix, as it's the symbol of my home town, Atlanta, symbolizing it's "rising out of the ashes" after her destruction during the war between the states.

I never knew that. Chris's first fiance, who's an FR lurker, lives in Atlanta, and my folks have been there a number of times, but I never got that far south, myself.
Chris's mom (sadly, I never met her as she'd been dead some ten years when he and I met) wrote some novels that were set in New York and Connecticut during the Civil War period and beyond. They're out of print now, but I've read them, and if you like that sort of stuff, they're good (well-researched).
