the "0"s can get through, but the "1"s are getting jammed up....

In the early days of online systems, I used to love to stand back behind the clerks and wait -- then jump out and yell "don't touch THAT button!! You'll delete all the data in the system!" (or similar).

I was quite the sick puppy doing that to 40+ or 50+ yo clerks who had never even seen a computer before (except on TV).

we liked to go on service calls in full dust-suits and respirators, with the (telephone line) tone-tracer live in our hands... get near any electronic device and it hummmmz nastily... under fluorescent lights it is truly scary... and tell the people in the office that there was nothing to be concerned about (while muttering urgently to each other and departing with great haste)

Tulane University was a happier place for our presence.
