Let Us Unite Behind President Bush ( A Plea Message to all Freepers)

May I remind you that you are supposed to be addressing your fellow citizens as an equal on this forum, not acting as a schoolmarm talking down to others who don't agree with Bush's policies? If you don't want to post on threads that are critical of Bush, don't do so. Don't engage those of us who are *responsibly* angry as Americans, as citizens, as taxpayers, as conservatives, as Republicans, and as people who voted for Bush in 2000 at Bush's *irresponsible* overspending, amnesty plan, and Democrat-style entitlement programs.

But remember this, all of you: Bush is not someone who earns election simply by virtue of not being a Democrat---he's got to demonstrate---quickly---that he's prepared to promote responsible Republican policies, not merely "discounted" Democrat ones. HE'S the one who's got to mend his ways to deserve re-election, not us.

You were actually advocating that it wasn't so bad that Russia sold banned military gear to the Iraqis because it "leveled the playing field" because it was "so unfair our guys had more equipment than the Iraqis".

Well who is the better candidate in your vast opinion? Wanna vote for Kerry? Think Frenchie will protect this country or turn it over to the UN? How about Dean, think he'll give you a better bang for your buck? Mr. Fiscal Responsibility there.

How about Edwards, care for them rich trial lawyers do ya? Maybe you like Koochie or Al. But then who cares, right? Anybody is better than Bush to you, regardless of accomplishments and leadership particularly taken in the post 9-11 context. Nah, let's not have these pesky details get in the way.

Oh I know. You want to write in somebody else or just not show up to vote at all. That'll teach him, right? That'll teach us all, right? You're gonna give us all a lesson here. Except most likely it'll be YOU doing the learning. The rest of us are fully aware of the horrors that we can expect if President Bush doesn't get re-elected.

Go ahead, right in Mickey Mouse as your choice. I'll bet dimes to donuts if a RAT (God forbid) does get elected in November you'll be the first one back here crying and moaning.

And when you stubbornly refuse to vote period, at that instant you lose every legitimate rigtht to complain or criticize about anything. Just like Peach said.

Go ahead, be a single issue voter or a "I'll teach him a lesson" dupe. Thank God most people are able to see the forest and not just ONE TREE.

In this crucial election year, we are seeing that some conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush in very aggressive way.

President Bush has irresponsibly alienated a lot of conservatives.
That's politics.

By doing so, they are helping the Democrats and this is not acceptable at all. In this crucial time of our history, where we are fighting the war on terror, it is extremely important that we stay firmly united behind President Bush. We simply cannot afford as a nation to have a Democrat in the White House, it will be a disaster for America.

The War on Terror is important, and the main reason I'll be voting for President Bush in November. But it's not the only issue, and the bulk of your comments here are a flag-wrapped appeal to groupthink.
America is not supposed to be like that, sorry.

Thus, I would like to ask you my friends who love President Bush and want to see him re-elected to stop attacking him and think about the big picture.

Why do you assume that criticism of President Bush indicates that someone doesn't actually see a bigger picture than you do?

Also, I would like to ask you to personally send e-mails to any conservative journalist, radio host, or TV host who is attacking President Bush or harshly criticizing him and ask them not to do so.

Attempt to stifle dissent?
There's already been too much of that. One of the reasons the criticisms are becoming so loud is because is because too many self-styled yes-men pretended there was no problem earlier.

I already e-mailed Mr. Joe Scarborough from MSNBC asking him to stop attacking President Bush as he has been doing lately. I send an e-mail to Mr. Bob Novak asking him to tell the truth about the ultra left liberal John Kerry rather than put down President Bush as he did in his latest articles. I sent an e-mail to NewsMax asking them to retrieve my name from their e-mail news alert list because I disagree with the way they are attacking President Bush lately. Any article posted on Free Republic and that is bashing President Bush for not being “conservative enough” should not get any traction or responses. If we do not respond to them, then they will eventually stop posting such irresponsible articles. We must work hard in toning down the rhetoric of some of our conservative friends. We love them very much, we respect them very much, but their anger is hurting us all in this crucial election year. Please let us do so, for the sake of this great nation.

You're focusing on silencing the messengers, instead of addressing the problem.
I'm voting for President Bush, but I think your post is almost 100% off-track.

Before you (or anyone else) votes against President Bush, make sure the opponent has EARNED your vote. I noticed on your profile page the quotes about the family and abortion, and how you would never vote for a someone who is not pro-life. That is a critical issue for me, too, and one of the main reasons I would NOT vote for any of the other canidates.

If you are thinking of voting Third Party or staying home on election day as a protest day, don't come back here and complain if we have a Democrat president.

I'm voting for President Bush, and I have a proposition for you:
If the results in November turn out to be less than hoped for, or if President Bush should lose, because too many Republicans didn't vote for him as a result of a number of his policies they found to be unacceptable...
Then don't you complain if we end up with a Democrat President.

I have been seeing the phrase "Principles" on the forum quite a bit lately as the argument for not voting for Bush...if you in any way support Bush, you have abandoned the Pricipled Conservatives some say.

Staying home from the ballot box, voting for someone who you know doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of garnering any electoral votes, or even casting a vote for a Dem is clearly not demonstrative of conservative principles.

One less vote for Bush, is one less conservative gain in the Congress.

My principles lead me to BELIEVE that in THIS time, and in THIS country, a vote for BUSH is our BEST chance for making those important conservative gains.

Continuing our fight against terrorism and Congressional conservative gains should be the end game in this election cycle.
