Let Us Unite Behind President Bush ( A Plea Message to all Freepers)

Dear Freepers

In this crucial election year, we are seeing that some conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush in very aggressive way. By doing so, they are helping the Democrats and this is not acceptable at all. In this crucial time of our history, where we are fighting the war on terror, it is extremely important that we stay firmly united behind President Bush. We simply cannot afford as a nation to have a Democrat in the White House, it will be a disaster for America. Thus, I would like to ask you my friends who love President Bush and want to see him re-elected to stop attacking him and think about the big picture. Also, I would like to ask you to personally send e-mails to any conservative journalist, radio host, or TV host who is attacking President Bush or harshly criticizing him and ask them not to do so. I already e-mailed Mr. Joe Scarborough from MSNBC asking him to stop attacking President Bush as he has been doing lately. I send an e-mail to Mr. Bob Novak asking him to tell the truth about the ultra left liberal John Kerry rather than put down President Bush as he did in his latest articles. I sent an e-mail to NewsMax asking them to retrieve my name from their e-mail news alert list because I disagree with the way they are attacking President Bush lately. Any article posted on Free Republic and that is bashing President Bush for not being “conservative enough” should not get any traction or responses. If we do not respond to them, then they will eventually stop posting such irresponsible articles. We must work hard in toning down the rhetoric of some of our conservative friends. We love them very much, we respect them very much, but their anger is hurting us all in this crucial election year. Please let us do so, for the sake of this great nation.

And I'm saying it doesn't matter what you think you owe the country, as admirable as that may be, because other people are going to cast ballots just as valuable as yours with completely different motivations or understandings.

Yes, it does matter. Doing the best for one's country should be everyone's first principle in an election.

If it isn't, if getting even is first, if getting your own way on one or two issues is most important, then that is what's wrong.

I'm not totally happy with Bush, but Ketchup-Boy or the Mad Doctor are not viable alternatives. Third parties are a waste of time. Logically, Bush is the answer.

I'm becoming convinced that people who say such things are upset that Bush hasn't given them enough to complain about. You must really love to complain. Otherwise, why would you want to do so much to help see that a Democrat gets back in the Oval Office?

Bush, like Reagan, has respect for that office! (Reagan wouldn't even go to the Oval Office unless he had on a suit and tie. Compare/contrast that to how Clinton used the office!)

But the namecalling of GWB is too evocative of those other sites. Freepers are capable of intelligent argument - that isn't what we're getting.

There's been a lot of unnecessary name-calling on the Bush partisan side too---I can't count how many times I've been gratuitously and maliciously accused of "racism" for opposing the Bush amnesty plan.

Your point on namecalling is well taken: no insulting names for the CIC or his supporters. But "handsome is as handsome does"---if you really do love Pres. Bush and want him re-elected, try to tone down your rhetoric directed against those of us who speak up in criticism of some of the things he's doing. We'll all win that way.

Rumsfeld would never allow those conditions for our military. I don't know where you've been getting your information, but men from Iraq have posted here on FR that none of what you've said is true. And .. as a matter of fact, I happened to see a congressional hearing the other day and a top military guy was saying that EVERY soldier in Iraq now has the new protective gear they need.

Fox News. THEY reported it. Joe Scarborough has reported it as well. Michael Savage has reported it.

If by "attacking," you mean calling him foul names, I agree. But if you mean to classify any legitimate criticism of his immigration proposals, spending, health care proposals as "attacking," no, I can't agree.

homemom, you appear to be a person to whom certain issues are the deciding factor as to whom you will vote for.

Mr. Bush has proposed amensty for illegal aliens while failing to pressure Congress into passing the Criminal Alien Removal Act Of 2003 (Clear Act) thereby failing to enforce existing federal immigration laws - violating Article IV, Section 4, U.S. Constitution: "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion and in application of the legislature or of the executive against domestic violence."

You have seen all the threads posted on FR about illegal immigration, over spending, the war and the death of our soldiers fight so other nations can have the freedoms we do in America. If public office is indeed a public trust, we too--not just the office holders--have a duty here. Theirs is to uphold their Oath of Office, ours is to see that they do so.

It is not to willingly entrust the future of our country and our peoples lives to one who has proven that the U.S. Constitution isn't the PRIMARY document to be held in highest respect during his term in the Office. Every State in the Union, yours included, relies on OUR President for it's safety.

By leaving the borders open to illegal immigration, he is also leaving the borders open to terrorists. These terrorists have shown their willingness and skill to successfully attack our country. What makes you think they will not do it again and be even more successful?

I can't vote for a Democrat, neither can I vote for President Bush's reelection because his actions show us all he is not willing to protect American people, soil or sovereignty.

What would it take for me to once again vote for President Bush? Close the borders and eject the illegal aliens who I am sure have terrorists living amongst them.

When, not if, we are attacked again, it will be President Bush who has failed the American people and the American people who have failed America by not demanding that he fulfill his oath to us.

If the results of the next election do place a Democrat in the Presidential chair, it will be our duty to demand he fulfill his oath to us.

Will this be easier to do because we all will hate the man? No it won't.

So, let's get together now before the election, all of us, the nuts like me and the sane people like you, and demand that President Bush fulfill his oath to the American people.

I don't want to wait until it is too late to beg for anything. We all have the power of our vote. Only we can tell him that we will not vote for him unless he closes our borders to terrorists and the 1000 nightly illegal aliens.
