Bush wouldn't sign Koyoto.

Bush wouldn't go for the Rights of the Child treaty.

Bush wouldn't agree to the women's rights treaty.

Bush has kept us out of the world court.

Say what you will about GW, he has (at least) kept our nation sovereign. Would Al Gore have done the same?

No, the republicans aren't as bad as the dems... yet.

You don't need to see their identification papers.

These aren't the small-government conservatives you're looking for.

Move along.

The sad fact is that the people who swing national elections in this country wouldn't know conservatism if it took its clothes off, painted its buttocks purple and danced naked on top of Dan Rather's desk, screaming "This is conservatism, baby!" Those are the people you need to reach. Do that, and the politicians will take care of themselves. Meantime, you do the best you can.

Here I stand, the goddess of Desire,
set men on fire,
I have this power,
morning noon and night it's drink and dancing,
some quick romancing,
and then a quick shower,
stage door johnnies always surround me,
they always hound me,
with one request,
who can satisfy their lustful habits,
I'm not a rabbit!
I need some rest!

I'm tired,
sick and tired of love,
I've had my fill of love,
from below and above,
tired,
tired of being admired,
tired of love uninspired,
let's face it,
I'm tired!

I've been with 1000's of men,
again and again,
they promise the moon,
they always coming and going,
going and coming,
and always too soon!
Right girls?

I'm tired,
tired of playing the game,
ain't it a crying shame?
I'm so tired,
God dammit I'm tired
!

I'm tired,
tired of playing the game,
ain't it a crying shame,
I'm so tired

[soldiers:]
she's tired
-she's tired
sick and tired of love
-give her a break
she's had her fill of love
-she's not a snake
from bellow and above
-can't you see she's sick?
tired
-she's bushed
tired of being admired
-let her alone
tired of love uninspired
-get off the phone
she's tired
-don't you know she's pooped?
I've been with 1000's of men,
again and again,
they sing the same toon,
the start with Byron and Shelly,
and jump on your belly,
and bust your ballon!
aye!
Tired,
tired of playing the game,
ain't it a freakin shame,
I'm so...
let's face it,
everything below the waste is kapput
!

Many years ago Rush Limbaugh said that we would only know just how conservative the Republicans are when they controlled the House, Senate and the Presidency.

Well, now we know. They are Borrow and Spenders rather than Tax and Spenders. GWB is making a ploy of fiscal responsibility now... only because of the falling poll numbers amongst conservatives. He still needs the votes, but if re-elected I agree with you. He will expand the power of Govt more than any President since LBJ. At least with a DemocRAT president and a Pubbie legislature the 'Tax Collectors for the Welfare State' will exercise some financial discipline. They are unable to say no to a drunken sailor Pubbie in the White house.

I used to buy the argument that if you vote for a 3rd party you are voting for a democrat. Maybe so. It is a difficult choice. But voting for the Socialist-Lites has only brought us more socialism and totalitarianism. For example, no one who believes in conservative values could ever give the Dept of Education even more money to carry out their Communist agenda of Goals2000, School-to-Work or No Child Left Behind. 6 million innocent children on ritalin and rising. Another 5 billion from GWB to carry out their evil agenda.

I haven't decided how to vote yet. Probably for Bush, but I need a stronger clothespin on my nose each 4 years. Does he really think that giving money to the NEA will buy him a single liberal vote?

I no longer have the slightest trust in the national Pubbies. They have betrayed that trust. I've not left the party. The party left me.

I’ll be voting conservative, which means most likely the Constitution Party. I’m not throwing my vote away; Bush threw it away with everything he and the neo-cons have done for the last four years.

You are not throwing your vote away; you are throwing your support to Kerry, Kennedy, Soros ...

Solid proof that there are useful idiots on both sides of the aisle.

"The neo-cons that control the Republican Party today are hoping that rank and file conservatives will mindlessly vote for Bush, keeping their heads in the sand, until it’s too late and they’ve developed a new constituency to keep them in power."

I have said this since 2001, and it is exactly their game plan. They are not prepared for, nor do they want a massive walk out of conservatives. But it is the ONLY thing that will save us, and then only maybe as we don't know how much his pandering may pay off.

Pure-as-the-wind-driven-snow Conservatives have become all-or-nothing losers. Now that it's time to govern, they don't know what to do.

Great post.

>>>"As for me, I’ll be voting conservative, which means most likely the Constitution Party. I’m not throwing my vote away; Bush threw it away with everything he and the neo-cons have done for the last four years."

You may be right that it is better to support the Constitution Party rather than write in Tancredo or some other worthy Republican.

There's not a dimes worth of difference between the new Republican Party and the Democraps -- in the presidential election. The difference now only exists at the local level.

So feel free to support the national candidate of your choice (i.e. conservative). As you say, that probably is The Constitution Party. It certainly isn't the Libertarians.

If you stay home and not vote, then you only express 1/2 of your distaste. Voting for someone, even a write-in, sends the message to whatever conservative Republican leadership remains.

Again, it really doesn't matter if a Democrat or Bush gets in... you can't tell the difference. Yes, you can say look at the terrible things that Clinton did. In addition to the bad things (IRS files, Rubin bailouts, judge appointments) he also did some good things: no drunken spending. Both parties have good and bad things about them. That's the problem, there's no real difference anymore. We're picking gnats to find the difference at the national level.

The Republicans used to be the party of restraint. No more.

The best thing Bush can do is step aside and annoint Rumsfeld or Frist as the new presidential candidate.

I'd vote for Frist or Rumsfeld... but not Bush. He's a Democrat -- can't you see? Not a dimes worth of difference, as they say.

Just a few thoughts on the future of America...

I do not think that a traditional or Roth IRA will be able to live up to its promise, for those of us under 30. I think that by the time I retire, the government will have decided that it needs to tax my IRA, when I withdraw the money from it, even if I only contributed after-tax income to it. And, I think that I will pay back taxes on my IRA contributions, if I opted to contribute pre-tax income to it. That's why I don't have an IRA.

I think that the IRS will one day be its own department, rather than an agency within a department.

I think that the Democrat Party Platform of today will be indistinguishable from the Republican Party Platform in 12 years.

I think that there will be a Marxist-style backlash against free trade, fueled by the hate-speech of the isolationists and the nanny-state mentality of the unions.

-----

I enjoy the limited economic freedom of the US, because there is no place in the world that one has a better shot at obtaining sufficient wealth to retire comfortably. But, that is really the only reason that I stay here. As soon as I am able to retire, I plan on moving to some developing or recently-developed country. I left my native state of Maine, because it was so ridiculous. I now sit back, from afar, and watch as they destroy themselves. I will probably be doing the same with America, in 30 years. I have served my country and been a good citizen. But, just as I would not remain business partners with a thief, or stay with a woman who cheats on me, or drive a car with no brakes, I will not remain in the US, if the majority of its citizens remain non-thinking sheep, enamored of pop-culture, seeking handouts, wanting to spend my money, and allowing themselves to be duped by every smooth-talking politician who seeks power. Withdrawing all of my money from the bank, putting it in a suitcase and moving to the Dalmatia coast of Croatia is looking better everyday.
