"That was pure undulterated Crap."

Now, now, mom...post like a lady.
If the Manchester, NH, Union Leader is not a conservative publication, then none are. Here is today's editorial:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1069909/posts

Some excerpts....

"PRESIDENT BUSH is trying to buy the 2004 election"
"It is incredible that come this fall, Americans may have to vote for a Democrat to get a President who will curb federal spending and shrink the federal deficit."
"There is precious little that Americans truly need the federal government to do. This President claimed to understand that. But his actions show that either he doesn't understand, or he was lying."

"Bashing Bush and trying to defeat him is hardly an exchange of "conservative" ideas.

All of your high-minded principles espoused here have one goal: defeat President Bush. This election is not a primary. You know that."

You may be interested in this editorial from arguably one of the most conservative newspapers in the country.

when has there been an anointing, and exactly WHO of you out there are THE arbitors of "legitimate criticism" and "bashing"??

Your use of the term "anointing" is meant to condemn the fact that the Republican nominee is selected. It is a fact, that is who it will be.

I wasn't quite aware of the "official" guidelines that were set up...

No surprise that you completely missed the well articulated guidelines. I'm sure they went right over your smug head.

I'll speak for those of us who are objective and independent conservative thinkers

Better to speak for just yourself.

The people you are addressing are objective independent conservative thinkers and your snotty attitude is insulting.

That last opinion is speaking only for myself, of course...

Really, can we keep those types of comments out of here?
--and --
Were you aware that Kevin Curry has been banned and can't defend himself?

Nope. I (still!) haven't gotten that far down the thread to see where Kevie was banned and why. I'm not gonna dance on his electronic grave. If he was banned (or more likely suspended) he'll be back.
And he'll still be wrong about the WOsD, but he's spot on with this post.

No, bait, it doesn't work that way. You have to implant the memory first, before your victim will "remember" it. I'm one of the ones who won't hold still, so it won't work

Then it is obvious you are: A)Not well read or informed

B)Disingenuous

C)All of the above.

Try reading about Soros on here and other sources . But, you already know who he is.

Well, conservatives ARE the base, and a whole lot of people need to start remembering that. Can't or won't argue the fact that this thread was trouble from the beginning

I'm sorry, but a majority of those "conservatives" sure as hell soundedlike advocates from MoveOn.org . How can you chase off a base if the alleged base is loudly and obnoxiously screaming about opting out. Everyone of them acted like the held the true answer,Now some are even trashing their new saint,Tom Tancredo. .They are not conservatives, they are populists with a strong bent for totalitarianism. They offer no solution other than punishment. They also never respond to logic or reason.

If you worry over those hurt feelings of an unappeasable minority, then you'll worry yourself into an ulcer.

Spot on! Send the message this way, not on election day.

Out damned spot is Eternal Warming here.We had a discussion about the tagline Tancredo in 04 and three of us were saying he had no chance, etc.

One of the posters caught her posting on LP she'd been over here tweaking, and named we three "morons".I was all over her next time we met here!Outed!

I hate duplicitous cross posters who change handles ,mainly disrupt and go back and insult FR.I can't wait for her to see JR's policy at #712 about third parties!

"In states where Bush could be expected to do very well (>55% of the vote), voters wishing to put a shot across his bows could vote third-party with a clear conscience"

==

Absolutely untrue!

First of all, you never know how well he will really do -- he was expected to take Florida with no problems in 2000 and we all know what happened. Second of all, the Dems are still harping on Gore having received the higher popular vote. Bush needs all the votes he can get to win and the have the authority to govern.

What I said earlier, IS the reality of the situation:

"Anyone who claims to be a conservative and is NOT voting for Bush, is a hypocrite, the Dems' useful idiot, or a Democrat pretending to be a conservative. It's one of the three."

And we've gotten the word in Wisconsin not to cross party lines to try to mess up the Dems in the Primary. (It's tempting because we have an open Primary and nobody is definitely registered in one Party of the other.) We need EVERY George W. Bush vote we can get because Republicans won't turn out in most jurisdictions for the Primary because we have no contested races on the ballot. But we MUST turn out and post a tremendous vote for GEORGE W. BUSH and send the Deanaics and Kerry Botaxers and Clarkburrs scurrying back into their spider holes!

You and all the other "Bush lost my support" crowd who want to make a "statement" by voting democrat - go ahead and vote your heart. You are a democrat.

The reason you people are so upset because FR is "not like it use to be" is because you want to be able to come on here and try and recruit Bush supporters to join your "statement".

No way - we will support Bush. If the democrats get in power they will insure that they never lose power again. You thought Clinton was bad - wait until you see what the radical left will do to your constitution, your judge nominations, your country. Hope you enjoy asking the U.N. for permission to breathe.
