The entire GOP are a bunch of spineless jellyfish. The rub elbows with those EVIL democrats (yes, I said EVIL!) as if they are drinking buddies or something.

A lot of them are drinking buddies. If you're a Congressman or political staffer who is unable to work with your colleagues from the other party, you don't last very long and are rarely effective. About half of Congress is made up of Dems. A Republican who doesn't accept that sometimes you need to compromise with them, isn't a very smart Republican.

If I were AG, I would not enforce any law that was contrary to GOD'S ETERNAL LAWS. This is a sin. If Ashcroft or Bush had any guts, which they don't, they would refuse to enforce abortion laws.

In such a situation, you should resign. If a public official feels that he can't do his job because his personal beliefs conflict with the job, then he should resign. Simple as that.

What are the courts going to do about it if they don't?

That's the surest road to dictatorship.

I see you left out my point that Roe v. Wade is UNCONSTITIONAL. The President and AG are sword to uphold the Constitution, not some judge's lame interpretation of it. Anyone who doesn't uphold the Constitution should resign. We are a nation of LAWS not men who can interpret those laws in any lame fashion they want. The President and Congress also have a duty to interpret and uphold the Constitution. They are obligated to defy the courts when the courts defy constitutional principles or make up new ones (like right to privacy or right to sodomy or right to not be offended).

That's the surest road to dictatorship.

Following the true intent of the Constitution is surest way to AVOID dictatorship. However, as judges rewrite the Contitutional according to foreign and secular standards, and our rights are disappearing before our eyes, dictatorship is well on its way as we speak, but it will occur precisely because our leaders do not honor the Consitution. You have it backwards.

OK, I see the great Independent/Liberaltarian plan now: First, tell the courts to go to hell, the president is in charge now. Next, vote against GW, and give the presidency to Dean, or Clark, or Clinton. Then we can have President-for-life Howard Dean! Man, you guys are brilliant!
