In such a situation, you should resign. If a public official feels that he can't do his job because his personal beliefs conflict with the job, then he should resign. Simple as that.

I see you left out my point that Roe v. Wade is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The President and AG are sword to uphold the Constitution, not some judge's lame interpretation of it. Anyone who doesn't uphold the Constitution should resign. We are a nation of LAWS not men who can interpret those laws in any lame fashion they want. The President and Congress also have a duty to interpret and uphold the Constitution. They are obligated to defy the courts when the courts defy constitutional principles or make up new ones (like right to privacy or right to sodomy or right to not be offended).

If the courts don't decide what is constitutional, then who does? Does every member of the government get to define his own, personal constitution?
