A Message To Conservatives: "Your Silence About Rush Limbaugh Is Deafening."

A NOTE TO MY FELLOW CONSERVATIVES:

Your silence regarding Rush Limbaugh is excruciating.

I like Rush, too, and given that he and I have the same employer, I'm not exactly improving my career prospects by being consistent. It's a bad habit I picked up after years of listening to, and admiring, Rush Limbaugh.

And if we learned the lessons of Limbaugh (individual responsibility and the rule of law), how can we now agree to "Clintonize" ourselves defending him? A drug addiction is one thing, but blackmail? He's allowed himself to be blackmailed for years--the same years he was rightly pounding the stuffing out of the Clintons? And now he claims he's the victim of a politically-motivated prosecution?

What's next: "The b**** set me up?"

Of all the disappointing decisions Rush has made, these last two are the most disheartening. Consider for a moment what blackmail is: An admission that you know what you're doing is wrong.

The decision to fork over the cash is just that--a decision. It can't be any less difficult to make that decision than to decide to, say, go to your lawyer, spill your guts and spend a month in detox at Charter. So why not choose to do the RIGHT thing?

But that's not what Rush chose to do. He chose instead to continue, for years, to do the wrong thing and then--after he was caught--blame the consequences on the vast, left-wing conspiracy. As Rush himself said very wisely and correctly when Jim Carville made the same argument defending President O.J., "It doesn't matter what Ken Starr's politics are if you're innocent."

Bill Clinton wasn't an innocent victim of political vendettas. He was a perjurer and obstructer of justice who blamed others for his own lack of character and its consequences.

Which means, my fellow conservatives, that Rush Limbaugh is....?

I'm terribly, terribly sorry you are in such a sad situation. Please do rethink sending a 13-year-old out of the house, though. If you have ever heard of the Paul Bernardo case, you will know he and his wife were killers and one of their victims was a 14-year-old girl who was similarly being treated to "tough love" and had been kicked out of the house that very night. I hope you find a solution. I don't know who to suggest contacting, but please do talk to as many people as you can. Best wishes, best of luck, I hope your holiday season gets much better.

Personal attacks, when you can't refute, nay even claim that I am correct in stating just WHO made these " coercive " laws, makes you look exactly what you are...silly.GOD is the issuer of the TEN CLOMMANDMENTS and the laws in Leviticus. I never claimed to be.Neither did I state that I would coerce/punish/go after those who refused to follow them. Nor, for that matter, have I stated, on this thread, that our government should.

Just attempting to figure out a Christmas present ( a laptop) and doing extremely poorly. My typos, with this thing, are ex potentially worse, than on anything else thus far. LOL

Same to you. We already opened our presents. Wife didn't care to wait for this morning since she is going to sleep in. Been working long hours.

So tomorrow we'll cook a nice dinner and bore ourselves with TV or something.

Mom and Dad sent a nice little traditional clock in a nice wood casing. Roman numerals and all that. I have no idea where to put it. Probably in the china hutch.

As usual, no one got me what I asked for! lol I wanted a 64MB memory stick for my Sony digital camera. I got Matrix DVD's, socks and shirt, a PF Changs gift certificate and I German chocolate cheesecake.

Wife got a few clothing items (one is already going to be exchanged...a suede skirt that is just too western. When she pulled it out I laughed and said, "now I'll have to buy you some boots"! Back to Dillard's for another skirt it goes!), a couple DVD's and I got her an official Titan's jersey (football).

She got me nothing! lol But that's usual since I don't deserve anything. I also bought a spa mat for the bathtub from Conair. It'll work until I get a spa tub installed and/or a hot tub. And then I'll put it in the other bathroom.

Dad sent some of his homemade carmel corn again, with his roasted peanuts. Wife got the new Toby Keith CD from a co-worker and I got some Batman plastic glasses for my stocking!

A fun time was had by all! he he he God Bless us everyone!!

Like you, we opened presents tonight. I'm struggling with my nedw laptop and hope that I get the hang of it sooner, rather than later.

What's a " spa tub " ... a jackoozie ?

I'll be chained to the area of the stove and ovens most of Christmas, making the usual goose with all of the attendant " fixings ". LOL

I had 6 Months left in the Army. I made one more jump. Everything went okay, hooked up, jumped, shoot opened. When I landed it was the way I had done countless times before. Except when my boots hit, there was about a 2 inch rock under my left heel. It was enough to twist me and my sciatic nerve got pinched. I live with that pain today. Every morning, it comes and goes and sometimes is severe enough to take my breath. But I did not accept any kind of disability. In the past 13 years I have missed 4 days of work because of it.

I think the difference is I have a higher tolerence for pain. I was given demerol, but did not like the effects, but the most I do is take an Advil if it is really bad. It eases it a bit. I have a strong will some people do not. It does not mean they have emotional problems. It means they just cannot handle pain day after day. I can most days. The 4 days I missed work were days where I could not even stand up straight. Some people also have a low tolerance against drug effects.

I never said that Rush shouldn't be punished pain or no pain. My point is that he should get punishment commensurate with the misdeed. I don't believe people like Daryl Strawberry should be in jail for abusing illegal drugs. I certainly don't believe people like Limbaugh should do time for something that transpired because of a medical condition with legal prescription drugs.

The fact is that he only started taking these extremely addictive LEGAL!!! drugs because of a certifiable medical condition which typically got out of hand. First came the medical condition, then came the drug problem not vice versa. The question is why are so many people eager to see Limbaugh in jail? Are the same people just as eager to see illegal drug abusers like Daryl Strawberry in jail? I'm not. His "punishment" should fit the misdeed.

We have such a tub and almost NEVER use that feature. I used it that way once and wentg back to bathing without it.
