If the Senate Dem's were privy to this, and Al Gore was privy to this, and the Clinton's were privy to this, THEN, they are all liars. And not only that, since they knew this information existed, they are stupid liars.Stupid would be an appropriate word if they didn't know the consequences of their actions ... but they do.
Liars would be an adequate term if lying about these things didn't endanger the lives of military personnel and the security of the nation itself ... but it does.
They are seditious traitors not stupid liars.

What is very distressing to me is that if this TOP SECRET memo is leaked...People need to be brought on charges for leaking information. That was my first thought as well - even if it supports "our side" or confirms our beliefs, leaking of top secret information is still wrong, and has the potential of being very dangerous to our national security.

Who profits from the leak, other than Bush? Obviouslu the dems trying to stop Dean. It's foolproof. It looks like a conservative leaked it. Now who would be able and willing to do that?

No, the administration wanted this information available in October of next year.
Not now.
AFTER Democrats decided to run against Bush on the War in Iraq because the economy was doing so well...this memo was to be de-classified.

I fear that we have not seen the end of deaths that can be attributed to the Clinton administration's incompetence. Are you thinking about the transfer to China of missile guidance technology that Clinton made happen? That state-of-the-art technology that only the U.S. had that can stabilize and guide an ICBM with pinpoint accuracy more than half way 'round the world and would have taken China another twenty years to develop?
Or ...
... are you thinking of the multiple warhead technology he gave them? The technology that can put 8 (or is it 16?) individual nuclear warheads on one ICBM missile and then guide each one of them, with precision, to seperate targets as widely dispersed as half the North American continent, after the missile reaches the stratosphere beyond any possible missile defense system?
Or did you have something else in mind?

As I say above, Bush didn't leak this, nobody on his team leaked this.
It's too early to declassify it as well.

Now who would be able and willing to do that? Wasn't Jay Rockefeller's office also linked to the other leaked memo? Coincidence or no?
The memo, dated October 27, 2003, was sent from Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas J. Feith to Senators Pat Roberts and Jay Rockefeller, the chairman and vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Good enough for me BUMP! Good enough for the Demoncrats? No. :) Of course, nothing would be good enough for them.

Thanks for the ping. This is big. As for Rockefeller -- it's time for him to go.
To: Maelstrom
I can see your point, but I really can't see how this does Bush much disadvantage. And while I'm no intel expert, it's also difficult to see how these accounts from a decade ago would jeopardize current intelligence.
The points in the memo are so voluminous as to negate a simple dismissal or an easy refutation by the Dems. Note also that there are apparently many more details to come. The Dems can go out on a limb and try to break down these stories, but they will be discredited again and again in the coming year. Now's as good a time to start as any, and I have to wonder if its a coincidence that the Dems are getting hammered in these memos, and that they are getting set up bigtime on the judiciary issue as well.
I can't avoid the thought that Bush, Rove, Frist and Roberts have concluded that the enemy within must be dealt with and the brass knuckles are coming out.

Simple, 10 months from now nobody will remember this stuff.
Additionally, Democrats now have 10 months to plan a new path of attack rather than being stuck will an ill-planned strategy at the eve of the election.
That's how it disadvantages Bush.
