Freeper Laura Earl and I became officially engaged Saturday and this morning I wrote this little rhyme.
She Said
We went out to our jewelry store,
To see just what was there.
We looked at rings with diamonds,
One-Carat Solitaire.
She found the one that caught her eye,
I asked if they would clean it.
I louped it under different lights,
It jumped to life I mean it.
I hit one knee and asked her if,
She would become my wife.
The answer that came from her lips,
Was strange, you bet your life.
There I knelt with heart a pound,
Expecting shed say yes.
Instead with tears she issued forth,
Well sure, I mean, I guess.

(Of course it doesn't rhyme. It's a tagline not a poem.)

Well sure, I mean, I guess. LOL! I think that's an excellent response!
Good poetry this morning Flurry.

Congratulations to you and Laura Earl, Flurry.
"Well sure, I mean I guess" is as good as a "yes", I take it? ;-)
